Stupid logo hate thread

It looks worse imo. Horrible, unless you're looking to wear an emoji of a bugle ice cream cone.
It was just one more embarrassment to a whole night of embarrassment last night on national TV.
We had a HUGE opportunity on national TV last night, and not only wet the bed, we pi**ed right down our leg too.
We trotted out the ugliest secondary logo on the planet, we threw on 3rd and 1, we punted on our opponent's 33 yd line, and to top it all off (and no, you can't make this stuff up)..... we had a player do a somersault and a snow angel ON THE FIELD.
We went from a program potentially on the rise and showing promise.... to a complete laughing stock today all across the country. Great night otherwise.

Good...just means we'll shock the nation even more when we turn it around.
After 24 hours to think about it I've realized I don't like the red on red for any logo. Also, the logo under the word cyclones looks bad. If its here to stay, I fully support this logo on merch without any words. Let the logo be by itself on non-red items.
I have a feeling that had we won the game 42-6, this wouldn't be a 12 page thread.

I hated it the moment I saw it and planned to ***** about it no matter the outcome. Poor execution.
With block I-STATE, it wasn't love at first sight, but it was an acceptable improvement from the messy blender bird.
Still not convinced even if Chris and Woody like it. A 2nd logo is good only if it is cool. I highly doubt the players like the logo.
Does Raygun or someone have a "Never Forget" shirt of this freaking abomination. Seriously, we have some dumb people in our Athletic Marketing department. Cy is guerilla cool...and they don't even know it. The old swirlie toilet Cy got me an abundance of admiration until the Chiz and Pollard screwed that up. People from all over would strike up conversation and ask about our ISU story and history. Now they just mock us.
And while I am at it.......The "first down!!" orgasm thing is long since tired and embarrassing. Time to clean house at the AD....get some people in there that get it. NO more Sweet Caroline.
UGH......just like "Liberty Bowl" made it sooooo apparent that CPR was not up to it anymore, so was it apparent that CAmpbell lost to UNI last year after 9 months to prepare......the coach we want/need would not have lost that game.....That crap game last night was just the product we were shown to expect. I sure hope it doesn't leak that Matt told some old buddy at Akron that "this job sucks"...but it wouldn't surprise me. I hope the next coach and admin brings in the 49er look.....even if Kap tainted it.

This is one of the dumbest conversations in iowa college sports history. "I hate the logo because it looks like a bugle or an upside down poop emoji. Oh so youre saying that a triangular shaped thing looks like another triangular shaped thing? You can say anything looks like anything and it will make just as much sense. Its as dumb as the ronald mcdonald argument. And no it doesnt, if someone else wouldnt have said it you wouldnt have ever thought of it. Its as dumb as the fred flintstone tigerhawk or the womens reproductive system longhorn. Its a giant stretch.
""derrrr why didnt they use the old tornado"" Whos to say they wont (they will). It looks an equal amount like the aforementioned new logo (upside down poop) and national twitter tweeters would have tweeted the same crap.
Whyd they draw it like that and not this. similar to the freakout over the new license plates, you are not a professional designer and you dont know the constrictions they have to follow to make a new logo. They have to create a logo that they can use in any number of situations with colors that work in any number of situations. This wasnt a sit down and design a logo with no thought and say here it is.
This reminds me of all the hate the I State logo got and now people cry because they think its going away. Get used to it, we are going to have several new helmet logos in the next few years. Some you will like, others you wont. Shut up and stop crying about it and be thankful you have an athletic dept. willing to try new things and put up with a fan base of whiney crybabies that cry about logos they dont like.......

Mom!!! the mean people on twitter are mocking me!!!! Grow up and get a thicker skin. No matter what the logo was people are going to make fun of it. Regardless of school. THis is as dumb as the argument that we should change our colors because a hawk fan said it looked like ronald mcdonald. Sports logos are said to look like something else all the time, it doesnt mean you take it and hide it because the mean people said they didnt like it. From the national accounts I follow almost everyone of them said how much they liked it. I follow several uniform pages who all said it was "fire" whatever that meas. it wasnt until the tweet replies anyone said anything negative and hurt your feelings.

No relativism here......I suppose that if you were from an alternate universe where crap smelled good and bad things were good....you could say this logo was good.
This logo is bad.
this is a classic example of something new being put out there and someone ***** on it so everyone follows them so they can be part of the cool "everything sucks" crowd. I have countless friends who sent me the new helmet yesterday saying how awesome it is and then today they are mocking it online (and in this thread)
