Why doesn't NU go out and throw a ton of money at a big time coach and get their MBB on the map? They have the cash and it has been done recently (Florida). Yes, NU is a football school and everyone says you can't get out from the FB shadow, but you would think they could do better than having more birds than students attend the games.

Florida hired Donovan from Marshall, he really wasn't a huge name at the time and they weren't too far removed from a final four either...
 
I actually heard a Nebraska fan talking as I was leaving. She went to school there but sat up towards us. She said how jealous she was of our school and of how disappointed she was of Nebraska's students. Kinda nice coming from a Husker fan, I guess.

Seeing as it took 33 minutes of game time for them to figure out how to add "sucks" to the end of "Whoosh! ISU!", I'm not sure I'd qualify that as 'bringing it back'.

I loved the three Nebraska students that stuck around after the game to yell at us as we left. All they managed to do was wave and yell "Goodbye" in what I assume was meant to be a mocking manner. When we started throwing actual insults their way, two of them got so confused in the head that they actually stopped waving so that they could concentrate their full brainpower on analyzing what we'd said. Out of the three of them, they only came up with one retort: "Dumb farmers!" That was the only two-syllable word I heard out of a Big Dumb fan all night.

Fair enough, but Donovan had a pretty solid resume for an up and coming coach. Several years experience under Pitino and won some honors as coach at Marshall. Nothing against Doc Sadler, but I think Donovan came in with more potential if not experience. I don't think you can argue that NU has really made a monumental effort to raise the bar on the MBB program through any hires. While it turned out to be a complete failure, Missouri at least got the fan base excited with the hire of Quin Snyder, who had a less experience than Donovan. I don't think Sadler brings the same to the table. If he wins, well...
 
I loved the CA chants, the Nebraska fans had to been ticked that the oposing team can come into their dump of an arena and make more noise than they do at times. Although I have to hand it to the creative "where's your baseball?" chant at the end. We didn't have a comeback for that one...

And the bus story blows my mind. If I drove a BMW I don't think I would be picking fights with a bus. I'm pretty sure that a BMW is not going to get the better end if it met a bus.

HA! Wasn't that great... You know we have some fan power when they turn away from the game to yell at us up in the corner. We did our jobs today. Good work everyone.

Oh and one more thing for those of you not at the game, the Devaney Sports Center has such low attendance, birds are now inhabiting the premises.
