Definitely more than 60,000 in attendance IMO, there were only two small visibly empty areas and they were much smaller than the last home game.
What? No. Looked like at least 57k from my seat. Was loud as hell in there too.
After halftime it dropped to 53,496 because BDK and his friends left

Wut? There was at least 57k actual butts in the seats. More than have ever attended an ISU home game in November.
Gee - other schools have campus pep rallies on Friday or Thursday nights prior to games. We do it just once a season - Homecoming week.

Student section was slow to fill in but ended up being pretty much full. As a %, the student section was more full than the rest of the stadium. People like the OP aren't smart enough to realize that the students all move down and towards the 50 because they aren't assigned seats, so any lack of attendance is highlighted compared to the rest of the stadium.
I was honestly very impressed by the turnout of the student section. Cold and windy and they were there and they didn't leave early. They're not getting the credit they deserve, they could have gone back to the dorms to watch it on tv, but didn't!
And in Versailles students don't go to football games??
The student sections filled in nicely after the game started. As far as the SEZ goes, that's because most of the people with tickets down there spend their time inside socializing. A lot of them are paying zero attention to the game. WTF?
You have to realize there are over 6000 hillside "seats" and they were far from full too. That hurts actual numbers. If the stands were packed without the hills there is still only about 55,000 seats in the stands.
Student section was more than fine. If they were in assigned seats like everyone else they would have looked like the the fullest section in the stadium. Half because they pack more people into rows than are seats, and half because any empty space is all concentrated in the back.
Attendance was great yesterday. And many empty seats in the corners can probably be attributed to people who bought mini packs for the games early in the season but didn't use or sell them today.
