Streak still alive?

Really, who gives a ****. I don't really think its something to brag about anyways, since we happen to beat you guys within the streak on FG's. So, actually, I find it funny that you don't even need to score TD's to beat Iowa.

You guys didn't need to score TD's to beat the 2007 Iowa team. That was probably the most brutal season I've endured.

It's something to brag about, even if you won one of the games. We took 2 of three, and nearly made it 3 of 4. Your odds of winning with just FG's are pretty slim. I'd take the odds of a victory when you don't allow TD's everytime.

I don't really care that it's over, it was just a nice little bit of good seasoning on an already great steak.

Red flag for trolls is when they tell you they aren't one.

Kinda like when people start their posts with "I'm not a racist, but ____"

Perfect post.

Thanks.

I just don't see what big deal about the TD streak really was. I mean, it was a nice trivia tidbit, and always something you could throw at ISU fans, but the HUGE black spot was that 15-13 loss. If we had been 5-0 during the TD less streak, then maybe it would be like one of those things you see in NCAA 2010, where it gives you some trivia while the game loads... something like "Iowa has won the past 5 meetings, and has held Iowa State out of the endzone over 18 consecutive quarters".

For some reason, "Iowa has held Iowa State out of the endzone over 18 consecutive quarters, but still managed to lose a game in that time span" doesn't sound as nice.

Nothing was lost because there was no humor there. No one knows what you meant.

If that TD streak was such a huge ******* deal to you guys, maybe you should have thrown the starters back in in the redzone. What? since we are down 35 we should just forfeit everything and are required to put in the reserves? That's the dumbest thing in college and professional sports. You are always supposed to stop yourself if you are winning big and you are suppossed to concede if you are losing big. These are big time sports. There is a lot of money involved. If you get ****** because some leaves their starters in too long and are beat your ***, get better and quit sucking. A team has to do what it feels is in their best interest. If it is pulling starters to preserve health, then fine but don't expect teams to pull starters so peoples feelings aren't hurt this isn't high school where the talent and development is set and there is no choice. SOrry about the rant but that hurt feelsing BS in a billion dollar industry really pisses me off. I loved when Harbaugh hung a bunch on Carroll last year.

The pukeyes showd that they didn't care of the streak when they even put in their backup punter before we put in our backup QB. Streak over. Deal with it pukeyes. Move on. We already have.

Just wanted to know some of your opinions on the final touchdown of the game.
Personally I thought it was pretty bush league. Starters (with #2 RB) in with a couple of minutes left down 35. I would have liked to hear Rhoads explanation if AA or a lineman went down.

Not trying to get everyone upset or rub salt on any wounds, but I don't see the point of keeping the starters in at all against mostly 3rd string RS Freshman & Sophomores to break a streak. Just wanted to know what you guys were thinking.

I think I will put the streak to an end, but with a *.
Thanks for sharing. You obviously know the meaning of "bush league" as evidenced by your post.

To the OP: Congrats on the worst thread of the day!

A touchdown is a touchdown. Doesn't matter how it happens. The streak is over.

As a Hawk fan you should care about the fact Iowa won. Who cares that the streak is over? Yea it was kind of fun to hold over Cyclone friends of mine, but at the end of the day the win is the only thing that's important.

And no, keeping his starters in was not "bush league" by Rhoads. Now, if Ferentz would have done that with the lead Iowa had, THAT would be bush league.

I will say I was surprised he kept key guys like Arnaud, Sims, and ARob in the whole game. Fortunately no one got hurt and they finally started to gel at the end of the game.

One small point, ARob didn't play in the fourth quarter. Shontrelle was in then.

Small sample size, but I think this is what happens a lot.

AmesHawk apparently loves the no TD streak.
edr247 and myself do not care.

33% of Hawks fans make 66% look bad.

I have no problem with keeping starters in...what did CPR say/do?

I think he started his presser by saying that they scored the TD, and not to take anything away from the media...or something like that.

Not sure why that was an indication of him having a 'thin-skin'...perhaps that could be clarified...

So wise one, at what point exactly is the time to pull starters? Is Kirk to text Paul and say "hey we are taking our starters out, maybe we can have a little scrimmage with the 2nd and 3rd teams".

Give it a rest...

Rhoads was doing what he thought was best for his team. Just like KF did what he thought was best for his team, by pulling the defense out. Not a big deal. The score was 35-0 instead of 35-7. It really matters not one bit, unless you had a 35-0 score in some office pool. Will be good to go into next year without the media mentioning the consecutive quarters without a TD stat, put the focus back on the game.

I may be wrong, but I noticed that the announcers on Saturday mentioned "the streak" repeatedly but failed to mention the black spot you mentioned above. It certainly does take the luster off of it.

The streak is over. Why does everyone have to put qualification on everything? Yes, it wasn't pretty. Next year we are sure to hear that the Cyclones have only scored one touchdown against Iowa in the last whatever quarters.

Sweet Jeebuz. The streak is over. Yes it was fun while it lasted, but the Clones put the football in the endzone. End of story.

No analysis of Coach's decisions necessary.

No philosophical discussions on the morality of keeping players in/out of the game necessary.

And no * necessary either.

If anyone puts an * by it, I'll sneak up to your computer with my little bottle of White-Out and cover the *.

The TD shouldn't have counted because it was 9-11. The Hawks still own us on non tragedy anniversaries, there ya go OP, now your streak can live on. Or we still haven't scored a TD on odd numbered years when the game was started before 230pm CST.

We won the 4th Quarter 7 - 0. We absolutely dominated the final two minutes. I would be embarrassed to be an Iowa fan. The Cyclones have a one quarter win streak heading into next year. Go Cyclones!!!

Who really cares besides Iowa fans? The "streak" should have an ** on it anyway considering that a touchdown wasn't necessary to win the game in '07. I would have rather not scored a TD this year and had a better showing - or I'll take a W with no touchdowns any day.

Be prepared to hear about the streak against Iowa starters before next season's game. I would bet my life that line gets trotted out next season.
