Streak still alive?

Just wanted to know some of your opinions on the final touchdown of the game.
Personally I thought it was pretty bush league. Starters (with #2 RB) in with a couple of minutes left down 35. I would have liked to hear Rhoads explanation if AA or a lineman went down.

Not trying to get everyone upset or rub salt on any wounds, but I don't see the point of keeping the starters in at all against mostly 3rd string RS Freshman & Sophomores to break a streak. Just wanted to know what you guys were thinking.

I think I will put the streak to an end, but with a *.:wink:
 
Streak is over, ISU scored a TD! Doesn't matter who was playing offense or defense, a TD was scored, bush league or not.

I think it was important to get Arnaud going a little. Even if it was a meaningless touchdown against a 2nd string defense, at least we finally moved the ball and got it into the endzone. If a bunch of people got hurt I would probably think differently though

Really, who gives a ****. I don't really think its something to brag about anyways, since we happen to beat you guys within the streak on FG's. So, actually, I find it funny that you don't even need to score TD's to beat Iowa.
 
If Iowa had won all those games during the streak, it might mean something. However, as we all know, they did not. It's over. We scored a TD. There's no way you can continue a no-TD streak after we score a TD regardless of how it happens.
 
Get over it. The game was 3 days ago. Maybe the starters wouldnt have been in there if KF would have pulled his starting D sooner. I think or O needed a bit of work.
 
In our defense I'm sure Iowa's backups are all world and probably better than anyone we have anyway:jimlad:. I mean our starters are guys Iowa wouldn't want anyway.

But seriously, that TD and streak were pointless to me. We lost, I could care less if it was by 28 or 35 points.
 
I think the biggest reason AA was still in the game is because up to that point he (AA) had never scored a TD vs Iowa. His parents both went to ISU, he grew up in Ames, and if he is anything like me (and a lot of you I'm assuming) he probably has no love lost for the opposing side in this in-state rivalry. My guess is that AA didn't want to look back 40 years from now and know that he never led a TD drive against Iowa and that Rhoads helped him out a little bit there.

I know I'll get blasted for this guess, but I think Rhoads is a "players coach" and by letting AA get that monkey off his back he thought that it would benefit the 2010 Cyclones. AA's win against Iowa is awesome, but if we (as fans) are getting roasted on this TD streak, I have to assume it probably hurts AA just as much if not more.

I saw it as Coach Rhoads gave his full confidence in Arnaud. He did not give up on him and wanted him to get that touchdown. Arnaud has never been apart of a touchdown against Iowa his entire tenure. It was a way of going out with your head held high your senior year, even with the day everyone had.

The only things that got hurt were some hawk fan's egos. Anyone who takes issue with the TD doesn't know much about football. At this point in the season, it's not an issue of which team has the better 2nd and 3rd string players. Both teams still have at least 10 games left in the season and the score won't have any impact on how Iowa finishes the year. It was, however, the first step for ISU to put the game behind them and get back on track to prepare for the remaining challenges on their schedule.
 
I don't get Hawk fans who put any credence in the no TD streak. As stated, you can score no TDs and win...which is way more important than any streak.

I think it was good for CPR to let AA get that monkey off his back.

Side question...when they pulled an AA bio up on the screen it said his nickname is "The Mayor." Do people in Ames/on campus really call him that considering who the original Mayor was/is?
 
I'm sure you'll hear plenty of Hawk fans tell you that the TD doesn't count, but oh well. Personally, I really don't care, as the TD meant absolutely nothing in the whole scheme of the game. It was a morale booster for Iowa State, and a small victory in an otherwise lopsided Iowa win.

Besides, I'd rather have you guys break the streak this way, rather than scoring, say, a last second TD to win the game.
