The Steve role has been done before in mafia. The person who says the word is always killed right away by mafia. Because the person has not been killed tells me mafia is strategically faking Steve.
Keep in mind Fitzy does have a rule this game about not directly revealing your role. Not sure what the punishment for doing so would be. I don’t think there is any benefit to an innocent faking Steve at this point. Wayyyy too easy for a mafia to hide.
Random thought: if we know who Vecna is going to kill, why not just vote them out? That's losing only one inno instead of potentially two, depending on the other vote options.

I think they wanted a late run off gipper and ideally get Vikes and/or clonies out.

I personally lean inno on clonies (and vikes to an extent). They could’ve chosen others and they chose mafia gipper to switch to last night
Believe Vikes came up with the idea. Clonies tagged along after gipper was up near the top. Clonies could be Vecna and put his kill in for moores last night after getting clear in case there was a run on him today? Stretching?
I'd put in my vote for him again today, but it won't count for anything so no reason to.
