Stinson's quote from today's Register

Stinson was a great player and he had to be the leader of the team since the first game he played. He is the only player in Big 12 history to have

1500 points

400 rebounds

400 assists

200 steals

and that was in three years he would easly been the big 12 all-time leading scorer if he stayed his Sr. year yes he had some bad moments last year but he is still a good player and he is a Cyclone and we should all support him.

well said BryceC. let me start by saying i thought coach morgan was a great guy and a sincere individual.

with that said, i didn't really enjoy the structure of the team last yr. i remember games when stinson did indeed get out of control, it was waynes job to pull him, set him on the bench and let him collect his thoughts. maybe give him a couple pointers, i didn't see that happen. the times that stinson did go astray, very rarely was he pulled. its hard to identify and correct a problem when it isn't brought to ones attention.

What is this in English? I am sure it's good info if unravelled.

Its touche, and you are right. They are gone, and we should all wish them the best of luck.

Thank God the majority of people have the sense to defend Curtis against these morons. He faced the opponent's best defender for 2 years (Jake often got the best one his freshman year) -and guarded the other team's best player on the rare occasions we went man. The people that bash Curtis only manage to put a Scarlet A on themselves as idiots and not true Cyclones in my book.

Good luck to all former Cyclones!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(JJ4ISU @ 06-29-06 4:14 pm) [post=6023]Quoted post[/post]</div><div class='quotemain'> What is unbelievable is that Stinson thought that he would get drafted. He is undersized for a shooting guard. He is not a great ball handler for a point guard. He is not a great passer. He is not a good shooter at all. He typically has a poor attitude. He is not a very good on-ball defender. He doesn't make players around him better. Not sure what advice he was getting.... [/b][/quote]

Boy, for being such a bad player, how in the world did he make all conference?

I thought Stinson was a fine college player and a good leader. Unfortunately, he is just a notch below NBA level. He does enough things well but doesn't excel at any particular thing which will make it a little difficult for him to catch on to an NBA team IMO. He is a little short for a shooting guard and is not a particularly good shooter or ballhandler. He does have an ability to score in the open court and with better defense and better decision making might have a chance to catch on as a role player. A year under GMac would have shored up some of his weaknesses and increased his chances for the NBA. Curtis is pretty old for a college player and probably felt he needed to get going to the next level at this time. With the increased responsibilities I had heard he was dealing with, I can't fault him. Instead I wish him the best of luck, and hope things work out well for him. Thanks for choosing ISU and sharing your talents with us. We hoped for more success and it didn't quite work out quite like we hoped. Best of luck whether you make the NBA or play ball in Europe. We wish you well.

I for one appreciate what CS did at ISU. He played hurt much of his time at ISU and especially this last season he still put up great numbers even though he was the primary target of opposing defenses. That being said it sounded like Stinson really was in disbelief when he wasn't drafted. (Although we don't know the context. He may have been referring to the fact that Blalock was still undrafted at the time.) If CS was under the impression he would be drafted last Wednesday, I can only think that idea would come from an agent since I didn't see his name on any mock draft. I like Curtis and I would love to see him on an NBA roster some day, but even if he doesn't make it I think he'll have a successful carreer in Europe or where ever he decides to play.
