Steve Prohm releases statement

Interesting that less than a week after getting fired he was back in Murray.
Yeah I’m not sure how much to believe there. Other than they don’t think much of our beloved state. Also, I never realized Murray St had football.

I hope he gets that job. Then we can bring back the big 4 classic but try a new configuration with ISU, Nebraska, Creighton, and Murray St.

Interesting discussion over there.

"He was 9-9 in the conf his 4 th year. Looking at the numbers compared to Hoibert, if I spelled that right. No comparison at all".

"I have no idea here completely guessing but I bet he does what his wife wants him to do next".
Funny the fans that think we wrongfully fired a guy for how much he's lost the last 4 year.

Think my money would be on Creighton for the foreseeable future.

I'm not going to pretend like Iowa is some destination, but that was funny coming from a guy in Murray, KY

Ridiculous price? Do you have any reasoning behind that or is that just a large number to you? Based on the market, when he bought the house and the price and compare that today that is a very reasonable price.

That pricing l looks pretty spot on to me. There are two pretty distinct housing markets in the Ames area, so I can see why $1mm could be a shock.

People need to keep in mind a $1M home is much more obtainable than you realize. Banks are lending out ridiculous amounts thanks the the GSE guarantees on mortgage backed securities..

The bank only has the risk of your loan on their balance sheet for a day to week at most. So they really don't care how aggressive the lending is.

When mrs cyfan and I graduated from ISU. We made about $120K combined with $80K in student loan debt. We applied for a mortgage a year later and had the approval to borrow up to $500K!!! SOOOOOOO many idiots are house poor because a bank lends them money for a house. Really you only need about $200K for income to obtain a $800K mortgage with $100-$150K down (most down payment money is from rolled equity in a prior home)

One other consideration with "two-comma" homes in Iowa... people moving in from the coasts. They might have $500k of equity to put somewhere. They can struggle to find a place sometimes.

Plus, they may be moving from a 800 sqft home in San Jose to a 3000 sqft home with 5 garage stalls and 3 acres in Ankeny -- and it could be the same price...

"Hoibert." That made me LOL.

Yeah, my wife got approved for a 200k house making around 50k a year with 20% down payment, on a 15 year mortgage.

An 800k mortgage is around 5k per month on a 30 year fixed. Prohm was making around 200k per month.

And from my understanding professors now days don’t even teach the class like they used to do. They have some grad student or some crap do it
Unfortunately that was one of my b****** with Iowa State. Engineering classes are massive and you get basically no FaceTime with your main professor. That being said the grad students were awesome.

"The worst thing about that job is that it’s in Iowa.

The second worst thing is the unrealistic expectations of the fan base.

The third worst thing is that is dead center in the middle of Iowa so you have to drive several hours to be somewhere that isn’t Iowa."

These guys are in Fentucky btw

Murray, KY is more in the middle of nowhere than Ames is. The nearest city with anything going on is Nashville and thats a 2 hr drive. Heck you have to drive nearly 30 minutes just to get on an interstate from Murray.

Pretty sure TJ is the buyer for this pending house. COTZ and the Albaugh/Loutch families are close and this is a home on their private golf course

Day 1 change - paint over the "Iowa" basketball hoop
Day 2 change - recreate the bedroom that has a Spongebob stuffed animal and Trump 2020 flag (assuming that TJ didn't specifically ask to keep that setup within the purchase agreement)
