Steve Patterson fired (Texas AD)

Doing better than 6-6 at Texas isn't unrealistic expectations. If he gets fired at the end of the year, it is probably going to be deserved. This years Texas team looks like they are going to struggle to get to that again.
If you have a cancer in your football program and you are serious about getting rid of it you give the guy you bring in more than a year or two to clean it up and turn it around.

I guess we will see if they are serious.

By the way, you have to go back to the Korean War to find a coach that Texas didn't give at least 5 years to make it work.

This guy was an ***. He harged alumni 25 bucks to walk on the field during reunions and basically charged everyone for everything. Basically screwing everyone over. Big donors were getti g ready to pull out.

Sure, money plays a role, but to call someone a money chaser when they accept a top 5 job is uneducated.
Uneducated in assuming that a Central Arkansas Grad with no ties to Texas whatsoever would just be kicking in the door for some Texas tradition? Please. You can name call all you want, but at the end of the day, money was definitely a big part of it.

I would imagine having the opportunity to coach a team that has the resources for a legitimate chance to win a National Championship has a lot more to do with it than money.
