As an FYI, the WCS-IC Fighting Squawkeyes (Western Chicago State - Iowa City) is also in the top 10 for those first 3 categories, so Fred and the boys will have to bring it on Friday. Hopefully the Magic prevails.

I mentioned this last week, but in the more important eFG% the Cyclones are 12th (Iowa is 93rd).

Our FG% is a little skewed because we take more 3-pointers than your average team.

Agreed.

I'm most impressed with the Assist-to-Turnover stat.

ISU is 6th nationally at 1.76. Iowa is 9th at 1.69.

I use A:TO, but I'm not really sure how I feel about it. Seems unnecessarily arbitrary to me.

But, ISU is 17th in Assist percentage and 21st in TO %.

Iowa may get a boost to those stats for our matchup with a tough game tonight against Power house the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights.... to say the Knights are not good would be a compliment... ranked 325th ppg, 345th rpg, 314th apg and 294th fg %. Seriously why even schedule this game???

I'm not trying to be a thorn in anyone's foot here, but rebounds per game is pretty useless. (Iowa is 21st in offensive rebounding percentage but just 134th in defensive rebounding percentage).

I know you're a numbers guy and do good work khaal53, I just thought it would be cool to post a visual snap-shot of what the ISU MBB page currently looks like on ESPN.com. It would be awesome if this team could maintain those types of numbers throughout the season.

True, but that said, I really like a good rebounding team.

I calculate it for Big 12 teams but use KenPom for everyone else.

I think ISU and Iowa are the only 2 top 25 teams who rate in the top 10 of all 3 categories. That's a lot of numbers, but it just means it should be a hell of a game Friday night.
