In this case, I see it like this. There are people who like the Big Play potential that Steele gives ISU. We've seen it before and when it happens, it's a lot of fun. Some don't like his potential for turnovers

In the case of JB, Some like the way he seemd to run a machine like offense. There didn't seem to be the crazy whacked out play when JB was in there, along with this was less Big Play Potential, but it was the trade for a more controlled offense.

I think in these cases, it's what kind of football you like to watch. I have to admit, I havea bit of an attachment to SJ myself, if for nothing else, I like his story. I want him to reduce the streaks of turnovers he had last year that put us in huge holes because this genuinely is his last shot at football. He made the trip here to ISU and I want to see him succeed and it still gives JB 2 years to be the starter. So in a lot of ways, no one gets hurt that bad.

In the end, that Big play potential is really fun to watch in SJ and I believe a lot of other people see that as well. Honestly, if SJ doesn't get the start, I really don't feel like the coach made the wrong decision at all. I'm going to assume that SJ never got a handle on the turnover issue.
What bothered me last year was the games were non conference and we looked dreadful behind a veteran oline for three quarters. This has to change.

I just don't want to see Jantz take the first snap and sprint right. Step up in the pocket, young man.

IMO JB's type of mistakes are more correctable so I hope he wins the job. To me the idea that Jantz has bigger play ability doesn't mean much since none of those throws ever take place from the pocket. Defenses can easily bracket him in & force him to play from the pocket....then what does he have left?

This is where I am at too. I really think the better QB and how the team responded was with Barnett under center last season. Still, if it does end up being Jantz.... get in there, don't make mistakes and freaking win. We all should be in support of the guy that gets the job.

I disagree. I think you want to instill confidence in your starter. He can't be looking over his shoulder every time something goes wrong, thinking he will be pulled. This would completely disrupt the team in my opinion.

I actually think this may have something to do with either of the qbs being able to get the monkey of their backs. I have a feeling that the qbs are in so much fear of making an error, that it prevents them from playing to their best of their ability. Just look at how close some of the turnovers were, and if the qb doesn't put quite as much on the throw, or reacts quicker without hesitation, maybe some of ther to's could have been elimianted.

Coach Rhoads has mentioned a few times that Steele has a lot of potential and that he can be dangerous with his (feet) quickness and speed . I am confident with whom ever the coaches feel is starter just wish the line was clearer.

I really don't believe in potential. I only believe in production. - Royce White

i want to see how far Sam has came along honestly but i think that Steele will get the nod because he is a senior and has the talent to be it wouldn't be surprised if JB gets a few snaps early in the game to see how he reacts to the situation. In a perfect scenario Steele plays the first quarter JB the second due to the fact that we are rolling Tulsa they trade off in the third and Sam gets the 4th. Probably wont happen but would give both the fans and the coach a good look as to how all the QB'S look at the helm during a game.

And if you didn't see flashes of a great QB from Steele, you don't really know what you are watching(if you even watch). I'm guessing you just go off stats instead of what happens on the field.

Steele shows flashes, he just needs to be more consistent this year.

This would be awesome...but I don't think we are going to blow out Tulsa. Maybe in the WIU game we can see that happen.
