Are you saying that Arnaud was not better under McFalrand? Because if you are, that is idiocy. Everything would show differnt. Stats, game film, everything. Higher completion %, Better TD/INT ratio. More yards. More yards/catch. higher rating. FWIW- His numbers were almost identical to stanzi in their sophmore year.
Are you saying that changing offenses doesn't affect play? That is also idiocy. Just changing a system can affect a QB. Let alone changing to a system that is not conduscive to the QBs ability.
Are you saying that running the ball and injuries do not affect a QBs ability? Again idiocy. An injured throwing hand obviously affects throwing. Who do you think is more effective later in a game...A QB that has been hit twice a game or a QB that has run the ball 10 times/ game and been sacked another 3? Who cna throw more effectively...The QB who just ran the ball for a 10 yard gain breaking three tackles, or the QB that has handed the ball off 5 times in row?
These are not excuses. Even if AA would have stayed int he same system, he may never have progressed. Lord knows the intermdiate route was his downfall. I am just saying, to look at these two QB careers, one cannot make a fair assessment as they are completely different. Out of all of ISU's players, AA got screwed the most with the coaching changes. 3 coaches, 4 systems, 3 different QB coaches. All teachign differnt things
Wondering how many of the posters here talking about AA having to deal with multiple coach/system changes have also been on record calling Robert Gallery a bust... after dealing with pretty much the same thing in Oakland.

I personally think Stanzi will max out as an above-average backup, but as hard as he works to improve his game every year, I would not rule him out of becoming a legitimate starter either.
Is that the best you can do? I can think of 3 hawks off the top of my head in the last 5 months alone...
Hmmm...do you really want to get into non-athlete drug arrests? I don't see how John Lamb is any different than Joe Blow student at this point. And we all know that IC has more drug arrests than Ames by far.
So you are saying that changing systems and coaches is the same for an OL as it is a QB? Gallery may not be the biggest bust ever, but changing an offense for a QB is just a little bit different than it is for an OL.
Changing systems obviously has SOME effect on offensive linemen. But not anywhere near the level that it has on quarterbacks. Anybody who would seriously compare the two and say they are even close to equal has lost their mind.
Gallery is a "sorta" bust. He didn't work out (at all) at LT, but he's made a pretty solid career as a guard. But you don't draft guards with the #2 pick, even an elite one (and Gallery is good, but not elite).

The fact of the matter is that we will never really know what AA could have been. The promise he displayed his sophomore year was immediately stifled by the coaching change. It's like Bret Meyer, his first year as a starter, they just let him make plays and he was effective. Then they limited his options, and gave him a horrible o-line, and he is lucky that he didn't end up crippled.
AA was a good leader and a good soldier, he did his best, and kept his mouth shut. He played through a lot of injuries, and fan ********, and never complained. For that I will always remember him well.
As far as ricky brady, I don't have a real opinion of him from his senior year. He became much more conservative in the pocket to cut down the interceptions. But that also took away some of what made him great at the u. His biggest strength was his fearlessness. When the overcoached him, I didn't think he was as impressive. His stats were prettier, but his game was not as strong. Two years ago, he very well might have won the Wisconsin game, even with the bad clock management.
Can he play in the NFL? I am sure that he will get every shot to be at least the 3rd QB on the Chiefs roster. I have never once thought that Brodie Croyle was any good, so maybe he can be Cassel's back up, if not this year then in the near future.
