not the biggest problem, but an easily solvable problem. Put a college student in charge - better music, sound and environment. It's like we latch on to every single thing everyone else does and try and make it work in Ames. Be unique.

It's time for that to end. I recall in the 90s, during the McCarney days, a guy (usually without a shirt on in cold weather) in section D would stand up and yell that. Maybe that's how it got started. But it's time to chill out and turn down the volume so we can enjoy the game.
I sit on the west side at the top of the lower level and the volume doesn't seem that bad. However, I went up to the top of the SW corner on Saturday to say hi to some friends and family and it was loud as sh!t up there. This isn't an age thing, there were a lot of young people complaining about it.
At least we don't have the obnoxious West Towne Pub guy anymore with his horrible ads.
It's not an age thing. It's terribly annoying and to the point that you literally have to yell at the people next to you to talk to them while music is playing. I have been to a dozen+ college and NFL stadiums and I haven't heard anything like it.

Are we seriously comparing the audio brought in for a touring show to the audio permanently hung in a stadium?
Checked the donation map after the game. Our squatting bumped us up 2 donor levels.

It's not the volume per se. It's that the volume leads to poor sound quality. Song choices could be updated. The in-game production is hokey (no pun intended). I think that about sums it up. Get better speakers or don't crank the volume.
Yeah, I've never had an issue with noise at any ISU game, or any sporting event before, nor have my kids. My 13 year old was at the game with me and he was commenting how it was unbearably loud. Some of the music (intro song for sure) the speakers were cracking and it sounded like they were going to blow. I love being at loud sporting events. Given the record and KU the crowd was good and was loud. Having it be loud because you're pumping in music about every possible second and are trying to blow up the speakers isn't quite as fun.
It's not a big deal, as you kind of get used to it, but it would be a lot more enjoyable if it wasn't so grating.

Would it kill them to play only light jazz at a low to medium volume so I can talk to my neighbors during the game?
Good gravy you are a bit too sensitive.
Personally i couldn’t converse with anyone in the pew behind me and had trouble hearing the choir. The pipe organ was WAY too loud.
