SOURCE- Campbell signs with ISU

Bobby La Gesse also confirmed the report for the Ames Tribune. Looks pretty legit right now on both sides.

@BobbyLaGesse: The Ames Tribune can now report that Matt Campbell is the new ISU football coach. First reported by @NickPiotrowicz

Wooohoooo, kudos to JP for getting the jump, poor old ISU wasn't supposed to attract much for candidates but hires arguably the #3 hottest young coach out there behind Herman and Fuentes
This. Our buddy Uben was quite wrong with this tweet

On Paul Rhoads' dismissal, which isn't necessarily a mistake, but will reveal a new, uncomfortable reality for ISU: http://*******/1Omj5Vv

Maybe he saw some talent when he had to scout ISU a couple of months ago.

Toledo trying to make him the highest paid coach in the MAC. Is there an official confirmation yet? Either way, I think them trying to counter offer is pretty telling the kind of coach you might be landing here.

I wouldn't be too down on MAC coaches either, lots of great ones have gotten their start in the MAC.

Hearing that Missouri ended up wanting to go a different path (likely in house DC) and freed Campbell up to decide between Toledo and ISU. Sounds like Toledo offered at around 900k for 10 years but couldn't go any higher. ISU won the bidding war (clearly wasn't much of a struggle) and a big emphasis will be put on a competitive assistant package. Ayeni expected to stay, discussions ongoing relating to other possible holdovers.

-Competitive assistant package
-Ayeni stays (also likely means Warren stays)

Sounds like a pretty great deal!
