For discussion purposes, I've never thought he was the guy from the get go.

Not because he isnt a good representative for Cyclone Nation, can recruit us into the tournament, or keep us competitive (he can do all these things) but because I didnt and still dont see him building upon what Hoiberg built and taking us to that next level that JP and our fanbase are always trying to reach.

Ok, I'll say it and I'll probably get roasted: Are we really trying to compare him to Fred still? Fred was great. Fred is gone. Steve isn't Fred and never will be. Comparing the two in the first couple years made sense on some level but now? That ship has sailed and it ain't coming back.

Judging anything based off this season is going to be tough for me. With what we lost last year, I had no hope this season was going to be anything special, so losing last night really doesn't surprise me. That being said, I still want to see improvement as the season goes on, and if we continue to play like we did last night into February and March, my feelings might change.

so you dont like campbell either b/c he's 0-4

awful analogy...campbell started with zero. Prohm started with NBA guys. Football and BB can't be compared...especially within the confines of ISU history. Finally, people aren't simply talking about the Iowa game...it's the entire body of work.

no

Having a coach share his private conversations with a player about substance abuse with the fan base?

Being unclear about whether he's going to be a contributing member of the team. Fans never knew where Prohm stood on Lard from game to game. Maybe Lard didn't know either, thus his frustration.

Voted no. Its been discussed here before so I wont go into details. I thought he was a bad hire once I heard how he was trying to run the program the first month he stepped on campus in June 2015.

He's a good guy and a good recruiter but I just dont feel he's good at other aspects like x's and o's, player motivation, and roster management. I think he's a bad fit to be coaching in this part of the country, especially around Story and Polk county..........not to get political.

I’ve supported him and am still pulling for him, but last night was the first time I was legitimately upset with him. Hope he makes some adjustments so this thing doesn’t get away from him.
I think the way he addressed it after the game saved him some face. It was unacceptable.

He’s a great coach but losing multiple guys early at Iowa State is harder than it is at Duke or Kentucky. It takes us a little while to recover and find our groove. Did everyone forget the success we’ve had?? He will get us on track and we will make the tournament.

This is inevitable. People are always going to make comparisons. Fred established the recent high-water mark for Cyclone basketball so people are going to make the comparison. It doesn't mean people don't accept that he's gone.

I’m with CSP. Last night was the valley of this assembled team. Poor shooting and lack of defensive production vs hot shooting, experienced team. We will run into this game again this year. We likely will hit high marks (Seton Hall) where it clicks. Unfortunately the grind of the big 12 likely means more nights like last night. But I like the athletes and length coming in next year.

One big hope is for Grill/Griffin/Lewis to establish some sort of release valve offensively. Someone has to make that corner 3 or drive and attack the rim. Feels like we are playing 4 on 5, no need to seriously guard when production with them is so limited. Makes TH and RB job to create that more difficult.

He always seems to have all the answers in his press conferences, but doesn’t apply any of them during the game. I’ve tried to support him, but it is becoming more difficult. I think he needs to win 8 conference games (won’t be easy)to show me he can coach.

The issue for me is what he accomplishes when he has those guys talented enough to leave early.

He seems to have answers to questions for games on the road in most cases.
They play well in many cases, its like the pressure is off or something.

Will see what the conference brings, Big 12 is down, with the exception of KU and freaking Scott Drew and Baylor.
