So much respect for Ben Jacobson

I hope we're not seriously debating whether or not Jacobson is a good coach?

In 10 years he's won 2 regular season conference titles, 3 conference tourney titles, consistently been in the top half of the conference...and won 3 NCAA tourney games with guys that were overlooked by power 5 schools...not to mention he has owned Iowa State despite often having less talent.

Anyone that can't acknowledge he's a good coach is either in extreme denial, or just dumb.

He is a good coach, not doing a great job this year though. They have clearly underperformed. Anyone who can't see that is in denial or dumb.

They beat Wichita State at their place to end the longest home court winning streak in the country. It's true that Wichita State isn't as tough as they've been in recent years, but boy can UNI defend and rebound. They've got their mojo back.

Tell that to the polls where they're ranked for having the same record as dozens of teams playing in tougher conferences.

Nobody denies he can coach, lots of people don't find his style of play exciting to watch which is fine. They've done very well against Iowa lately as well, it's clear they're good enough to almost always beat about any team that's less motivated than they are whether it's Kansas, UNC, ISU or Iowa (and it's stupid to be less motivated than a very capable opponent).

Don't disagree on this year, although it appears they are righting the ship..and with his track record the last 10years I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

UNI has had a baffling year. But if they win the MVC tournament whoever the 4 seed they play is gonna be upset with that draw.

I love the MVC conference in basketball. I saw a graphic during the game that said UNI hasn't beat a ranked team on the road since 2009 (until today of course). Naturally, one would think that is a terrible stat, but when you dive in a little deeper and realize that UNI and Wichita State are the only 2 teams in the conference that could ever find themselves ranked, it looks so much better.

That was all very tongue-in-cheek, by the way. The MVC is a bad conference and it should feel bad.

Creighton going to the Big East really hurt the MVC...and Loyola was an awful choice as a replacement (no offense Clayton Custer).

They are easily our worst loss and he's made the tourney once in the last five years. Let's not get crazy.

Not trying to be a jerk, but... did you actually watch the game? UNI's D was great like you said, but they got crushed on the boards today. Wichita State had 20 offensive rebounds and 48 total. UNI had 27 total boards and only one offensive. Their D is great but rebounding has not been a strength at all.

Uni plays to opponents levels simular to us

My parents are UNI season ticket holders. They like Jacobson a lot. But they get very, very frustrated with some of his in game moves. This was especially a problem 2 years ago when my mom insisted that she could have done better with player rotations than he did.
