Snow Next Week??

Raking and bagging is stupid and for suckers. I blow them into the yard and murder them with my mower. They either break down by next spring or blow away.

You must have one or two trees? My house (in town) backs a timber and trail. My backyard will literally be 24" deep in leaves at the end of it.

No way to mow/mulch all that.

I have 7 trees, and a row of shrubs all around a fence.

Ugh. Looks like we'll have to find a plan B for trick or treating. I think Valley West does an indoor trick or treating event on beggar's night.

As for the leaves, ****. I always just rake them down to the curb and call someone to haul them away; it would cost almost as much to buy all the bags I would need. Less work, too. The problem now is that they've barely even started falling. I can see where this is headed - me having to take an afternoon off from work for the privilege of raking leaves in freezing-ass weather in order to beat a snow forecast.

Yeah, I live in the Waveland Park area. By the time all the sycamore leaves have fallen off I'm about knee deep in the damn things.

Great they keep downplaying this snow. Yadda yadda the ground is too warm. Well I've got a half inch already on the cars and ground. Well on the way to an inch or two.

The ground is covered down here on the Missouri border, the snow will not last long, but hell, its not even November yet.
Iowa, why do we live here?

Not that I’m complaining because it could be worse, but it was 41 here in Scottsdale this morning. Very chilly for us.

Woke up to 3" of snow this morning. The trees were not happy. It was pretty but that will wear off quickly. It was 3 or 4 weeks early for Des Moines first 1" snowfall.

This is why I never want to move back to Iowa. KC-STL-CBUS climate is now my max capacity.

KC is pretty similar to Des Moines, perhaps a little warmer. St Louis is probably 10 deg warmer most winter days than here. And we are about 10 degrees warmer than Twin Cities. I'm not sure why so many companies decided that was a good place to locate their offices.

I think this story will help me get over 6" of snow already in October. Yikes.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...res-october-utah-wyoming-colorado/4098089002/

Notorious cold spot Peter Sinks, Utah, dipped to an incredible minus 45 degrees early Wednesday. This appeared to be the coldest October temperature on record anywhere in the Lower 48 states, according to Utah-based meteorologist Timothy Wright.

Beggar's Night was a real PITA last night. For the first part I had to haul my three year old around, which was ok because she's still small enough that it was like lugging around a space heater - heavy, but warm. After an hour I dropped her off at home and just walked with my eight year old and by the end I was freezing.

The good news - between my two kids we have a peanut allergy, a dairy allergy, and an egg allergy. I am now rich in mini Snickers.
