wow clone4410, rough day at the office?

I guess we're gonna just agree to disagree about us being a lateral move from ECU. I guess I don't view it as lateral since the BIG 12 is a conference I consider above CUSA in the football hierarchy of things. I understand we're not actually competing for big 12 titles right now, but rarely are the teams looking in the hunt for a conf title looking for a new coach. So I guess 90% of the time I would consider a new coaching hire a lateral move by what your standards seem to be because a school looking for a new coach will likely be at the bottom of their conference, and the coach they want is probably going to be doing well at their school or they wouldn't be a candidate for the job.

Very true... Sorry for being so negative... I'm just very frustrated with the program lately.... I would love to have Holtz I just don't think we can get a coach of his caliber.... Hopefully JP can prove me wrong....
 
if we can pay fryainz at eiu 3 to 3 1/2 million a year, the state board of rejects can surely find 2 mill for skip.

Sorry Woodie doesn't work like that.... Otherwise we could go after Jim Tressel... Farmers and Engineers don't make as much as doctors and lawyers.... Even though they work harder....:biglaugh:
 
I didn't even know ECU had a FB team until ESPE Game Day had a feature on Holtz and how well he was doing this year. Not that I know everything or even some things but I'd have to say it's a nice step up from ECU to ISU as far as conf. and BCS possibilities. I've got to say I'm impressed ECU is forking out the kind of coin.

Did anyone hear Chris Hassel on M&M today do his Lou Holtz impression? It was really really good.
 
hmmm this would be a great hire, at this point i just wanna win some games and i think skip would be the man
 
skip is not coming, and if he does, he will do as gene did. when charlie weis does not turn the ND program around, and gets canned in the next few years he will get hired there to carry on papa lou's legacy. however, it is a pipe dream that would just make my year. lou is my favorite coach inthe NCAA right now, especially after his first 4 games this year.

And if you read it, it says "unconfirmed" no one know's. And I don't think you know crap about the coaching pipe dream at ISU. Everyone once said getting Jim Walden could not happen having the two bad seasons we had and will we got him. Last year everyone said we could get the number DC to be the head coach and will we got him. oh and the same for Johnny Majors and Earl Bruce. So really think goof this is a business look at Gene, who would have thought that a 5-19 coach would a coaching job a that big of a school NO ONE and will he did. SO SHUT UP about the pipe dream or not a chance in hell, because guess what 7 times in this school's history we have gotten the pipe dream.

Have you ever heard Lou talk about us? He slams us every chance he gets so him and his kid can stay as far away from here as possible.
 
my bad i meant skip. i just had lou on my mind cuz my buddy and i were just talking about him as i was typing that.


also, leavitt would be awesome, but i think he also would be a stretch to get. he is doing well at south florida, and i think it would take a real big name school to lure him away. but that also gets me all giddy. that man could pump me up enough to run through a brick wall.
 
If we hire Skip as our coach can we play skip, skip, skip to my lou as a song instead of sweet Caroline?
