I was unable to watch yesterday due to a poor connection. What were your impressions? I know W&M was outmatched as I mentioned in my preview. What stood out beyond the hot outside shouting?

It is great to see Brynn get into a rhythm these last few games. I think earlier in the year she seemed to disappear a little offensively. It's also nice to see Jadda looking for her shot more and more. I am blown away that she (& add SJ in there as well) is "just a freshman." We don't NEED to hit a ton of 3s to be successful - but, again, it is a nice luxury to have so many threats from deep on the floor. Hallie gets so much attention, especially when she posts up, that it opens up the outside - just like our Men's team with Georges. Again, another impressive outing by our ladies. Acoustimac, it's too bad you didn't get to see the game, but it looked quite similar to the last few games, IMHO. We have been consistent this year - consistently good, that is!

That it is time to start playing some real teams. :-)

Mainl observation to me is that Jadda is finally starting to put up more shots when open instead of passing, which only helps not only her game, but the rest of team.

The first team was really good. Moody had a tough day, but Jadda was terrific. Hallie looked shackled by the WM defense, mostly in the first half. SJ looked like a player. Brynn had one of her bigger games. BillF had to pump up the their tenacity the second half.

The backups need help on offense. The point guard Argenbright had a low offensive efficiency and WM crept back in to the game.

TM is getting much better and will be a big help. She is willing to bang bodies down low.

Considering that Bill is constantly yelling for Jada to shoot or drive it makes sense she is shooting more.

As mentioned above:

* Jadda is getting more offensive minded. That will be a huge help come conference play.
* Tenisha is getting some quality minutes, and I can see her getting time in more than just blowout games. She is acclimating quickly.
* Seana is easily the most athletic player on the team, and her rebounding will be much needed in the Big 12.
* Lots of reserves minutes in the 2nd half, as ISU was up by more than 30 early on. So, the score got closer than the game really was.

I am excited for Big 12 play, as the talent level is going to ramp up quickly. But, this is the most athletic team I've seen Bill have in awhile, and a lot of players are stepping up and taking some of the load off of Hallie.

They appear to be having fun on the court, appears to be great chemistry among many of the players. Granted, not a lot of pressure in these types of games, but you still get the impression they like playing with each other.

The personalities are all very unique and yet overall very business-like about basketball, while showing enthusiasm but not being over-emotional. Will be interesting to see if the same holds in Big 12 games.

They (almost) all take Coach's "coaching" with a smile.

One of the best plays of the game as an indication of possible things to come was Tenisha's steal on defense around the top of the key and dribbling (yes, dribbling) 2/3rd of the court for a layup only to get fouled. She missed the 2 free throws, but for her to take it to the basket was impressive. She is fast. She can handle the ball.

She really does play pretty physical and isn't afraid to mix it up some. Actually pretty optimistic she will help the team in conference play at some point. She needs to attend the Poppens school of freethrow shooting although I'll give her a pass on that at this point since it might be years since she has shot one.

Jadda was just awesome. 19 points on only 6 shots and perfect from the line. She had another pretty open three look but tossed it to the hot hand (like she is not hot from three herself) and Brynn scored on a three. That and a couple of others might be ones she should have taken but we had our choice of open shots inthe first half. In conference we can't afford to pass an open shot and look for a better one, probably won't be a "better" one. I never got to see her play in HS and was wondering about all of the hype but she is all of the hype and probably more.

Jadda has arrived and is going to make us o much more dangerous. The break out we saw from Jadda during the two game tournament is what on the men's side we are waiting to see from Matt Thomas. If he can break out like Jadda, look out.

Sticking to the women's side I think Jadda really is the story of the tournament. Everyone else did what we expected or had seen earlier this season. If Jadda and Serena can sustain their play as freshman in the Big 12, we will challenge for Big 12 champs.

I really believe Brynn is the key to our future success. She defends and she hits threes is what is listed on her scout report. But when she drives and sets for rebounds it blows apart what defenses plan to do or can do. When Brynn is active inside on offense as well as shooting threes and defending is when our team is at its best.

Tenisha needs to practice her free-throws. She is putting to rest the out of shape talk. She could help us far more if someone would help her get her free throw shooting into form.

This is the best three point shooting team we have had for awhile here. We showed that during this tourney. We also have a very good ball-handling team. Our weakness probably will be rebounding at some point but we may overcome that with other strengths. This team is really hard to stop offensively.
