SI.com Article featuring Iowa State

Iowa State was not featured. Iowa State was mentioned in a "what about this obscure school?" sort of way.
 
"It's the lower-level BCS teams -- Iowa State, Washington State, Kansas State, etc"

yeah i wouldnt call this being "featured" ...or "nice" lol. kind of an insult even though true.

I know, but I thought his article, especially the part about the BCS vs a Playoff was very pertinant to Iowa State.

In retrospect, the word "featuring" was a bad choice.
 
Adrian Clayborn as a dark horse for Heisman...that's rich...

I think he has about the same chance to win the Heisman as he does going to jail for assaulting a cabbie. Suh was the best player in the game last year, by far, and he barely got to sniff the trophy.

Unless Clayborn picks up his game big time, he will not even get close to how dominate Suh was last year.

Agreed. Although I think Clayborn's game is great, it is the conditioning that needs to improve vastly. Suh was in phenomenal condition, especially for a DT. Clayborn looks like he is having a arythmia after the first series of every game.

Good player but he plays DT. I personally don't think there is any shot of a DT winning the Heisman. Suh was the best chance and, like you said, he wasn't even close.
 
If you don't have any offensive stars.......feature a DT. Oh the hype.
 
From what I have seen, Clayborn is very good but he is no Mr. Suh unless he improves.

Also, you can't coach speed. Suh's speed is what is the most freakish. I had to give him props when he ran Tiller down.
 
the question re texASS and other individual school networks is a good one, and brings up an interesting scenario: say, for example, every school in the Big12 gets their own network going, and the isu v texASS game, or any intra-conference game for that matter, is not picked up by the big networks. which school's network could get to air the game?:mask:
could this bring about yet more conflict and instability? makes Tubberville's comments the other day all the more prophetic.

i remember watching the iowa arizona game, and if I recall, this claiborn ran the other guy from arizona (grigsby?) mentioned in the heisman article down from behind more than one time. And i believe that he is a DE, not DT. this guy is plenty speedy. in the big 12 he'd be just another guy with a jersey on, but in the big 10, yeah, i'm sure he is decent.

I would think the natural position would be that the home team gets first rights. Then the visiting team would have the option to purchase the feed if they so desire. Obviously this is not a perfect solution. A conference wide network would be much more favorable, and in the end, I still believe it would work out better for Texas even. Seriously, how many TVs outside of Texas are going to buy the Texas Network? They are on TV almost every weekend as it is anyways. By having the rest of the Big XII part of your network, you open up a lot more TV sets in OK, MO, IA, and KS. Not to mention, make the league more appealing to anyone wishing to join. I don't see what Texas' big whoop is with their own network anyways. The big 10 doesn't throw their premier games on the Big 10 network, those still end up on National TV, just like Texas would every weekend anyways. To be honest, I could see a Texas only network, hurting them in the long run. Is it really that hard to see Texas play in Texas? In all seriousness, it's the schools that can't get on TV, can't get the TV revenue that should be clamoring for their own network. I'd love to see ISU shut texas down when they come here, "Sorry, you have to buy the Cyclone network to see that game." In all honesty, If I don't see the Texas ISU game on TV, now this is personally, not as a thought for ISU exposure, strictly my personal behalf, it really doesn't bother me, I rarely get to see ISU play if they aren't at home anyways.
