Shoutout Rocco Becht

I'm sick of ******* losing every year. Sorry I'm not jerking off over winning a game even we should have won by 20. We are back to moral victories and excuses to explain bad football.
How is a win a moral win? Does it matter if we win by 1 or 40? The goal this year is a bowl game. The spread doesn’t matter.

He’ll have all his weapons back, the line will have a 2nd year under Clanton. He’ll be excited for a 2nd year as a starter.

Rocco is the guy. We'll need to retain the offensive weapons (Higgins, Noel, Jackson, Brahmer) and the OL must improve but things setup much better next year. The schedule can't possibly be any more difficult either.

I don't have expectations for this Saturday but there are some games in October we should have a shot in. Winning 4 to 5 games this year and retaining talent would be a nice building block for next year.

Richardson had high hopes from me. No idea what happened there.
Rhoads ruined him. Could have been a good one, I do believe. Statistically speaking, I'm not sure he wasn't one of the better QBs in Iowa State history, which is saying a lot considering the lack of team success.

Don't give a flying you know what about margin of victory. Only time I ever really do is vs UNI, and I was fine with the 21 we won by this year. Just win, baby.

I don't know if we can really say that we should've won by 20 considering vegas opened the game with ISU being -2.5 or something. Honestly if you were expecting anything more than a 1 score game you haven't been watching the Cyclones this year. I'm just hoping this win gets us back on the trend of winning those 1 score games.

If ISU wins 4-5 more one score games there will be some miserable people here tired of all of the ****ing losing or something.

Many of us have talked about how if we can get up by 2+ scores, we will usually win. It gives our defense so much more room for error. I'm still pissed about our conservativeness later in the game, but it was a good monkey off the back game. These guys needed a win and losing three in a row would've put a stake through the heart of the team, especially with this week being in Norman.

Rocco is pretty damn good. A freshman QB has made a few big mistakes this year, but he's been probably one of the most consistent bright spots.

Watch college football QB play around the country. Given his inexperience, the talent around him relative to a lot of teams, and the results, I don't see how anyone can be disappointed at all.

Much like Purdy, I'd much rather have a guy like Rocco that might force things and take some risks that you have to reign in a bit than the opposite. He is absolutely a QB that can win a lot of games in the Big 12.

Repeating but his demeanor seems to be light years better than whst we saw last year in how he treats situations.

He also looked to have some swagger Saturday. I actually thought his throws sailed from adreneline after he'd talked to the Cinci player who grabbed his helmet.

Rocco has been better than anyone would have expected, especially when thrown into this position with other significant losses on offense.

I have precisely 0 complains about Rocco. He's shown solid accuracy and I really think he's got the moxie it takes to be a great QB. You can see his competitiveness on plays like the 2 tough 1st down runs he had on Saturday. I don't know where that leaves Kohl in the equation, but I really like what Rocco has brought.

I have to eat some crow on Rocco, but I attribute most of his September woes to the play calling and the coaching. The guy has been an absolute stud since the Ohio game. He is going to make freshman mistakes but the defense has started to figure it out. I just hope we don’t lose some of this young talent to the portal.

He's playing behind a POS offensive line, often having to be be a cog in a predictably called offense, and has little in the way of reliable receivers (though that seems to be changing/improving). He's constantly pressured yet he stands in their, with moxy, and doesn't pout in the game or on the sideline like Dekkers did when things weren't going well. Now I often understood why Dekkers was pissed, and usually agreed with the why (get plays in on time you dip *****), but you could see/feel the act grew old with his teammates. Rocco, even if he's not quite on, is gaming for 4 quarters.

Now that we are seeing signs of some better play calling (rollout and cross/drag with Higgins was a thing of beauty), seeing Higgins emerge, and seeing more chemsitry was guys like Brahmer, we might see him blossom if we just give him time. But that (time) is a big question right now.

I think easily the biggest positives of the season are special teams (clear number one for me) and Rocco.

It's hard when your coordinators/coaches want to run the ball on first and second down (for no gain) and put a redshirt freshman QB in a predictable throwing situation, often against a pass defense that brought some pressure (knowing we can't block for ****). Talk about putting your guy in a position to fail.

Rocco's been fine all year. Even in games he's not played well or made some bad decisions, the reason was often scheming or situationally related. The pick 6 against Iowa was a bad decision but it was far worse that that route, and that play, were even called in that situation. Literally a 25+ yard (in the air) throw for a gain of 5 ******* yards? Against Iowa's secondary? GTFO with that crap.

Look at Rocco v Dekkers. Hunter, with seniors Hutch and Shaw outside, would make absolute bone-headed decisions time and again. Rocco's best weapon is Jaylin Noel, who's on an incredible tear but hadn't really got going until the last few weeks.
