FYI: when he does interviews with other cities press to give them an “ISU perspective” prior to us playing them, he frequently calls us Iowa and not ISU. It’s persistent and unbelievable.
Fireable offense in and of itself. I mean, I could be wrong, but accuracy is supposed to be important in journalism.

Did he get a lifetime supply of pain meds when he broke his leg or what? As far as I'm concerned he is part of the Iowa Beat Writers. The guy needs his credentials revoked from ISU. What a buffoon!!

I can't speak for everyone, but I wait with bated breath each week for his article that is mostly texts from others in his text group!

He covers ISU and apparently doesn’t know that the center is part of campus. Might be time for some medical intervention

I kind of get the feeling that since he lost his wife this is all he has so he is clinging too it. Add in what I imagine from a sports beat writer how it becomes your life it can become kind of a coach afraid of retiring kind of thing.

The Register seriously needs to step in at some point but it is a hard line for them obviously.

I mean he just works for the DM Rag. I haven't read a single thing from that for several years. Not once I don't think since Carson King story came out.

Far as I'm concerned they could shut down. He just sounds like a moron in press conferences.

The Big Peach quality sports writing is long gone.
Too bad the Register didn't realize this wasn't even Big Peach worthy and should have been covered by their news team.

Clicked on a DMRag article today for the first time in years and ol’ Randy didn’t disappoint. Complete horse manure. Headline mentions officiating concerns but then he glosses over the officiating. Basically used the old “they need to play better”, never mind the officials spotting the Texas teams a few scores. Rest of the article lifted out of what others in some text group he’s part of were saying. The guy needs to be forced out to pasture.

He’s that loony distant relative that spends all his time in conspiracy groups on Facebook and tries to lure in other old folks.
