In the college game THERE ARE NO LOW RISK GAMES....remember boys DRAKE BEAT ISU IN JTS....and yes that was a low risk game that was lost before maybe Ten Thousand Fans at most in JTS
Really? I remember the Cyclones winning a close game in miserable conditions 2 years ago. Did I misread the score?

Accept losing the entire team..

Everything is still in front of this team with B Purdy as QB.

Get a grip. Purdy had a bad game and I'd say our WR's had a worse game.

All of our star returning offensive players **** themselves yesterday. Kolar and Hutch didn't pull in passes that hit their hands. Breece fumbled with bad form for a scoop 6. Purdy just looked like he couldn't see the field at all and was not accurate enough.

The o line looked fine for a change IMO, but the rest of the offense just looked straight up ******* BAD. And Manning isn't helping them with his play calling, either.

Or Brock isn’t 100 % healthy.

you guys pumping yourselves over replacing the qb and oc are going to be sorely disappointed when none of that happens.

just don’t enjoy any big wins because those same two people will be a part of those
Hmmmm. I thought I was questioning the decision to pull Brock. If Brock was playing hurt, why not share that info. Pretty tough to bench a player without sending the message the player is hurting the team.CMC wants to send a message pull Brock for a series. Bench your QB for the remainder of the game and finger pointing is a guaranteed outcome.

CMC seemed to acknowledge Brock is questioning whether Brock wants to start:

"“I would assume Brock’s going to be our guy,” Campbell said when asked if he still expects Purdy to start next week’s game against UNLV."

The head coach "assumes" Brock will start against UNLV?? We don't have a QB controversy; we have a coach/QB controversy. CMC still has a chance to beat Iowa -- he took away Brock's last chance to beat Iowa.

Brock was bye bye mentally right around that weird unneeded incompletion on 2nd and 8.

I knew right then Iowa had him as he was in his own head.

Definitely was wondering wtf is wrong with Brock, absolutely not seeing the field but it’s not time to pull him at all calm down.

The entire O needs a road trip to get away from the media for a week, get right, and put up 35+. I think we will knowing our teams talent. If Charlie is nicked up at all he needs to sit out. Now…. If we can’t score TD’s against UNLV… color me totally concerned

I guess if we are going to bench Purdy for not playing well against Iowa- we are going to need a pretty BIG dog house

Who's in the House?
- Matt Campbell for OK'ing a very TIMID offensive game plan! Pretty interesting our lone meaningful TD was scored getting the ball with 1 minute left in the first half.
- Tom Herman for putting together 2 straight game plans designed for the offense to score a couple TD's and hope our defense plays lights out.
- Brock for not completing enough passes down field to open up the running game.
- Our OL that has been outplayed by UNI and a DL that is not elite by Hawkeye standards. I am most disappointed in our OL play after the first 2 games.
- Special team play(ers) that were inconsistent at best. Solid special teams can't be mistake free 65% of the time. They need to be near 90%.

They’ve (Manning) have limited Brock in the aspect of not letting him improv. Brock isn’t a run by design guy. Doesn’t hurt to give Dekkers a couple of series a game. That way, a team has to come up with 2 schemes as composed to one. Dekkers is a better version of Lanning. We need to incorporate Dean with Kolar and Allen. The 3 TE set helped the LB spots and had to keep them honest. Which then helped Breece out getting to 2nd level.

Have to decline the offer. But at least Iowa is pretty good at winning games even with less than stellar QB play.
They have a coach who was literally a disciple of Bill Belichick and has seen every trick in the book. Plus they are an offensive like clinic. It’s easy to not turn the ball over with great protection. Most of our sacks yesterday were coverage sacks.

Yep…fun fact we don’t have to play Big10 football against Iowa we can play Big12 ball. We won’t beat them at their own game ever
Or Missouri Valley football. I go into the UNI game worried if we’re going to piss that one away. Thank goodness X didn’t have a ball go right through his hands and Hall inexplicably fumble in that one. UNI had a chance to win at the end, and that’s with Iowa St winning the turnover battle.

Manning and CMC are bad at these types of games. Manning has no feel how to setup an opponent and the team in general doesn’t win the margins. Poor offense, poor ST, and not winning the TO margin is a trend in games in which the defense can keep us in it.

Did Farley coach for Bill too?

My guess is he was talking about 1984 or 5. Drake beat Iowa State that year
I thought that too…I know they beat us in the late 80’s/early 90’s. What in the world does a game 30 years ago have to do with anything? Must be a hok troll.

I’d be shocked if we’re more than a 10 point favorite out there next week. Our offense has shown zero ability to put points on the board.

ASU was a 30 point favorite against UNLV this past weekend. If we’re only a 10 point favorite, then we might as well pack it up and call it a season.

It's not about what have you done previously. It's about what you are doing now. We have 1 passing Td so far this season and that was thrown by Dekkers. Unaceptable! Put in the dude who gives us the best chance to win.

Even Sacramento St threw for 350 yards against UNI. Something isn't right with Brock this season.
