Shayok Out tonight, Questionable for Sat

Here’s my scouting report from the team hotel. Rode down the elevator with Shayok. He said it wasn’t that bad and he wasn’t really limping much in the boot. Lard is here. Babb was carrying his uniform so he is at least dressing. Conditt was the first one into the room where they were eating and the first to leave. Can’t say I really read much into that. Gave Wigginton my official “Good luck tonight” so he should go off for about 30

Being a good citizen still matters. He would start under a lot of coaches that came before, but that doesn’t mean he has earned it in any way shape or form.

Maybe not starting lard is not a punishment. He’s foul prone. Give him 5 less minutes to get 5 fouls.

Our starts have not been an issue.

Ok here are the details:

Conditt dunked on Talley almost breaking ZT's arm. MS told Conditt to cool it. A while passed and Conditt confronted MS and they got into a fist fight. Then later Conditt slammed a door which hit MS foot (which was barefoot) breaking his pinky toe.

Separate incident - MJ and LW got into it when MJ told LW that he is selfish and that if he'd be a better team player they'd be winning more. LW got in his face and MJ got back in LW's face until LW backed down.
Well Jacobson was right on that one

Wigginton gets a bad rap, but I appreciate his aggressiveness when everyone else just stands around and doesn't take a shot at the end of the game. He actually tries to make something happen by going to the rim and trying to draw a foul, make a shot, or try to make that extra pass.

Early in the year, his turnovers where while trying to dribble/get his legs back. His more recent tuirnovers have been while trying to pass it to a teammate. I have no issue with those, since he is actually trying to make something happen and get others involved.

This is exactly where I'm at with Wiggy. We have a team full of guys that struggle to turn the corner and get to the rim. Alot of stagnancy and passing the ball around the perimeter. We need a guy like Wiggy to stay aggressive and hunt his shot a bit. He brings something no one else on the team does.

GODDAMNIT PEOPLE, you wanted toughness, now you're complaining about fist fights :p
We are supposed to break the other teams toes not our own. Suppose to show fire on the court when you are getting your manhood taken from you not in practice against your mates.

Thanks for the info!

Haha, the Conditt dunk reminds of high school when one of the younger guys drop stepped and elbowed me right in the head. I wake up on the ground shortly after and my teammates are all congratulating the guy who elbowed me for playing with some strength and fire. Or maybe they just didn’t like me.

I agree. I add that Lindell has also been real aggressive on the defensive end especially rebounding the past 10 or so games. Some of that has led to over pursuing jump fakes and getting out of position leading to giving up easy shots. (which I know some have fairly criticized)
I appreciate the 100% effort on that side of the ball and I could really see LW becoming a asset on D in the future once he learns the proper positioning and staying down on the fakes. I think we sometimes forget he is still a sophomore and still working improving weaknesses.

You guys act like players arguing, and getting in faces, in the locker room is new, and unique to this team.

No one would probably ever had heard about this, if it wasn't for the injury.

I mean seriously, if you could throw the lot of us in a room, especially after a loss, there would be a body count.

Some of those passes drive me insane. One handed pass trying to fit the ball through three guys. Jason Williams he is not.

Right foot. When it first happened, turning hurt so bad I would walk a extra few feet, then pivot all the way around on my left foot instead of trying to just turn right. And that was just me.....attempting to walk in my own house. As hard as I try, I just can't see how doing that will work on a basketball court at college level speed.

Probably because they are collegiate level athletes with collegiate level trainers and rehab with collegiate level drugs.

Not a middle-aged person at home treating it themselves :P

Not at all looking to discredit anyone, but I am curious how many of the people with broken toe experience actually had a doctor do an X-ray and confirm it was broken and how many are assuming...

Jacobson and Condit need to hit the weight room this summer and they need to teach Halliburton to quit being nice.
