Shawn Johnson what a joke!

Ummm, no one cares if she's a hawk or not...

Actually, there are a few that do. In every single Shawn Johnson thread I've seen posted on this site since she became famous, there is always at least one person who writes "I don't like her. She's a Hawk fan." (or words to that degree).

And we wonder why Hawk fans make fun of us for being obsessed with them.

Anyone else see Shawn at the game today? My daughter and her friends did. They asked if they could get a picture with her and she was a snotty brat about it. It was like "Ughhh... Ok, whatever" and then they asked about an autograph, she's like "no, I don't really want to." She did not impress me at all. Anyway she was sporting here alliance to the Hawks, unfortunately as seen in the picture. She kinda has a flat head and pistol grip ears if you know what I mean and she could pass for 9 year old.

So now you are attacking 4'11 gymnasts? Take your loss like a man.

She posed with a friend of mine for a picture this afternoon and was very gracious about it. Maybe it has to do with how she was approached?

Same story here, she sat next to a few friends of mine with a son in 6th grade and she was great about taking a photo with him.

My hawk friends were telling me how big of a pot smoker she has become. Her bf goes to the U of I right?

Did see her.

And I would hate being a celebrity just because if you go out in public, you have exactly zero chance of being able to be a teenager. Nothing against your daughter or any other young kids, but it would be very annoying to have to sign autographs and take pictures constantly just to please others and not enjoy yourself.

A decision was made to bypass her "teenage" years by horing her out to Dancing with the Stars.

Why even say that $#!% She's a 17 yr. old person. It doesn't matter what her successes are, you don't need to start that!

**** Vitale has always been good to fans, from my understanding. But when I chased him down in the airport on his way to the restroom as a teenager at the 1989 Final Four, he did the autographs and was professional, but it was clear that it really wasn't his thing at the moment.

I don't think it's because he didn't want to accommodate my buddy and I. I think getting chased down in an airport on his way to the bathroom probably wasn't an approach that was really geared towards a good response.

He was gracious, professional, and chatted politely. Then he politely went about his way. That's his right.

In this case, she did what you asked. Maybe the approach does have something to do with it. If you're the kind of guy that posts something like this because you don't like how it went down, maybe there's something to look at in your approach.

I am in the meh category with Shawn. Could care less really.

I'm curious, how much less could you care?

I understand they are just kids, but doesn't the whole I need a picture with (insert celebrity here) just wreak of selfishness. Be happy you saw them and feel lucky they were in the same place as you. You really need that picture to show off to everyone though I suppose.

All of this. She did not show up today to sign autographs and such, can't a person just go out without constantly being "on the job"?

And even with that, I saw her signing and posing for photos.

I don't really agree with this. Many celebrities understand it's the fans that make them all that money, so many are more than willing to do these things as a payback.

Having said that, being in the presence of Shawn Johnson is not really something to feel lucky about...

Was your daughter wearing ISU gear? That is probably why she didn't give her any time. I wouldn't want my kid in a photo with another kid in Iowa State gear.

Even if you knew this to be true, which you don't, a post like this is not needed, is it? It's gossip, and even if true, you've never done anything wrong in your life before? Leave her alone. She represented her country and herself pretty well in Beijing, as far as I can tell. Giver her a break!

As to the OP, how would you like it if somebody said you were a joke? Grow up.

This may be the dumbest topic I have seen on here. I was at the game sitting close to her. She signed alot of authographs all day. Of course she got tired of it, maybe she was there to watch a game. Inspite of how you feel you have no right to a picture or her authograph. And as far as she owes because of the money she has made, that is just silly.
