Wichita just got hit hard. Thankfully my aunt and uncle are in seattle. Just trying to find out how bad the house and planes got hit.

I know there is a knock on DirectTv for losing signal in poor weather, but for the record I lost Mediacom Internet and Cable for a good hour or so from 8-9ish tonight

Did it ever rain mud tonight?

Sorry for the Mike Leach reference and if you dont know what Im talking about look into his weather forecasting. The Mike Leach quote page on here instantly put him into my third favorite FB coach of all time behind CPR and Mac.

little worried wondering what i should do.

You should be alright. Keep a weather radio handy if you've got one.

Tornado risk is lower for Des Moines at this point, but more rain and thunder at least on the way.

If you don't have a wx radio or a smart phone app that you can set to your county, and you're worried, just sleep in the basement....

At the moment though the storms are weakening some as they slide into C. Iowa.

Oaklawn area and Spirit AeroSystems/Boeing on the south side got hit pretty hard, looks like some power lines down in other areas of S Wichita. Everywhere else seems to be OK for now.

I didn't know Spirit/Boeing still had stuff at McConnel, I thought it was all over at ICT.

My aunt and uncle only lost a tree. They got pretty lucky since it sounds like it went right up the turnpike which is about a 1.5 miles from their house.
