Not always. Heavy rain will do it sometims. Ours was our for about 20 min but the DVR works fine.

dtv isn't that good - it goes out way easier than tornadic activity....

Ames is on back side of the bow echo but sometimes you get 50 60 mile per hour winds and right now in Ames its high winds prob up to 50 60
