For football, after Iowa, I'd say KSU and (embarrassingly) UNI would be rivals. KSU is the Farmageddon game. UNI shouldn't be a rival, however our recent performance vs Purple Hawks had made this more of one due to loud Purple Hawks.
Historically Mizzou and Nebby used to be football rivals. The former was a trophy game and the latter was due to proximity and increased ISU wins over them before they bolted.
For basketball, KU and Iowa would be the main two rivals. WVU is more lately due to their thug play. KSU will pop in when they're good. Historically Mizzou was there before they bolted.
I would actually want Kansas to make the sweet 16 so ISU could beat them there if I were a ISU fan. That would be the best over a rival, knock them out of the NCAA, while overrunning their "home court" with fans.
This comment isn't to imply this is some sort of 1 way fan feeling right?
EIU boards have 5-7 open threads bout ISU going right now. Lot of jealous tones in all of them. I don't think there are 2-3 similar about other big 10 teams combined from the couple of times I have wondered over there. Probably because no team's fan base see's Iowa a real threat to both making them a rival.
The Iowa BBall topic here is based on close proximity of fan bases and local media not quality of program. It is difficult not to develop opinions on the EIU players with our duel exposure to both programs.

Shouldn't you actually have to beat a team to consider them a rival? ISU is 7-23 in their last 30 games against KSU and has lost the last 9 games in the series.
I always pick Kansas to win 3 or 4 games in my bracket because I like winning money and pools and have common sense. On the other side I take great pleasure in seeing them choke against an 8 seed every year.
If Fran was on the hot seat and a win over KU could keep him his job I'm rooting for Iowa otherwise I always root for Big 12 teams in the non conference to boost our RPI

How far do you have ISU going this year? Good chance you'll have to beat a higher seed than a 12 this year to get to the Sweet 16.

Check the numbers, it wouldn't surprise me if he had more Bohannons this year than Monte had his 1st 3 years.
Iowa's largely irrelevant so emotionally I'd cheer for them over KU, but KU losing to a bad Iowa team doesn't help the computer numbers.
