If Iowa is not discussed much, then they probably don't consider Iowa a rival.
Agreed, obviously due to the high amount of Iowa discussion on this board that Iowa is ISU's biggest rival and it really isnt that close.
Not cheering for Minny. Hope Purdue does well. Dont really care if Wisky wins or not.
Iowa is Iowa State's biggest rival and Iowa State is Iowa's biggest rival. This isn't new to anyone
Then you don't view Purdue or Wisconsin as a rival which kind of ruins Mashup's theory
Why do you hate WVU so much? Not a long history, no geographic proximity, and they aren't some storied program, with lots of history.
Does ISU have any rival besides Iowa in football and basketball and Kansas in basketball? Just curious, as I know there isn't a football rivalry with Kansas.
They're in our conference. A lot of people will root for them for that reason alone.
Yeah, they had a favorable path last year, nobody is denying that. In fact, Ive had huge discussions on this very thread about that. Lets keep on topic here and talk about Iowa losing to Tennessee.

You ever seen them play? Try playing them 3 times per year and then get back to me on why everyone hates them now. Thug ball is why. I hope them and Kansas get destroyed every time they suit up.
I hate WVU, always have since they have been in the conference. You could argue K State as a rival in football but you could argue against it just as easy. Looks like your fellow Hawkeye fans are rooting for the Big Ten in the tournament by the way
I can understand that. Much like MSU and Wisconsin that way. It isn't BB at all, just a bunch of crap they pull.
For sure, if you havent seen them play, its very similiar if not worse than Izzo's version of Thug Ball, complete with the crying coach who goes ballistic when the refs wont let them cheat.
You may not but a lot of other ISU fans will root for Kansas and other B12 teams. I'm not going to root for Wisconsin, but there will be Iowa fans and fans of the B10 who do.
Some will some won't. I saw a thread on HN about rooting for the Clones, and many said they never would. I will, but I have family and close friends that are Clone fans and I like seeing my family and friends happy, so I will root for them and watch he games with them.
To each their own. I personally hate Nebraska football, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois football and basketball the most. I don't have any close friends that root for those teams, so I hate them.
I don't know a single ISU fan that will root for Kansas in the NCAA Tournament. Not one
