Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

I understand your point but it's weird to see Nicholas Baer and Draymond Green in the same sentence. There should have been some kind of warning.

"Warning: Odd comparison approaching!"

Yeah there are a lot of odd comparisons you can do. I think I saw the Ball and Bohannon are the only Fr with 70+ 3 pointers and over 125 assists. Which is crazy since I learned on this site that Jordan can't even play basketball.

When have you seen Penn St before the Iowa game? Iowa tore them up and they went from #41 to #47 with that one game. Everyone has bad defensive nights, and Penn St had one is all.

If you don't think Wisconsin Plays D, you just have no ability to see things objectively and I'll end this right here with you.

So all of the open passing lanes, lack of help defense, and rebounding are good defense? Niiiice.

I don't remember seeing who I saw PSU play but I know I wasn't impressed. Hate to say it but this is like football season all over again.

Agree with Jok and Cook. Don't see it for Bohannon but have limited time seeing the team. Maybe they evaluate hustle and high fives.

Don't know much about the other ones except Happ and not impressed by catching the ball, dribbling backwards, not recognizing a late double team and then throwing into a crowd.

Dude, we recruit for hustle and high five capabilities. Aren't those the two most important metrics when evaluating incoming talent????

You can cherry pick stats to compare players all you want. It doesn't mean that Bohannon is going to be some great All American player the next few years. I will be shocked if he does end up that good.

He's going to shoot a crap ton of 3s and hit them at an unspectacular percentage. Due to the fact that Iowa doesn't have anyone more talented to play the PG position, he's going to get some assists by default.

Trying to compare current Iowa players to superstar NBA players is just stupid. If Bohannon becomes the next Stephon Marbury I will eat my hat.

Hawk fans insinuating that their team is awesome because they beat some mediocre Big 10 team. Hawk fans praising the Big 10 as this monument to college football defense, when it's much more apparent that Big 10 offenses are just not that good in most cases.

I don't think Iowa was awesome last year, I thought they were decent. Which Big 10 mediocre team are you referring to? Also, stats say otherwise to your last sentence and no one is saying the Big 10 is a "monument to college football defense"? Not sure what that even means...

There were plenty of Iowa fans who touted wins over Minnesota, Michigan, and Nebraska as these monumental wins. Michigan had one of the worst offensive games I have seen lately against Iowa, and not because Iowa's defense was so good.

Many Big 10 fans tout their conference as the best defensive conference in college football. When in truth, the offenses just don't have as much talent as the SEC or even the Big12 have.

This is what you get on this board. There is a silly issue with not being able to give Iowa credit for anything.

Baer only has good numbers because nobody guards him.

Iowa is only on the bubble because Maryland and Wisconsin did not show up against them and played their worst games of the year and not because Iowa did anything to cause that.

Michigan looked like poo against Iowa in football and it again had nothing to do with what Iowa did.

I consider myself very objective when it comes to Iowa/ISU debates, you all should try it.

Holy **** man...can you go to the white supremacists forums now and get them to see the error of their ways in hating minorities. Very powerful stuff here.

If Iowa State held Michigan to 13, you guys would be boasting about that for five years to come. Big Ten produces plenty of offensive talent, even more defensive compared to the Big 12. Go check previous NFL drafts and this year's mock drafts.

This is a basketball thread, if you want to talk about the defensive optional Big Ten football conference do it over in the football thread.

This statement makes no sense at all.

Why don't you also say that to other three people talking about it and to the person who brought up football.....

He was the one who brought up football last time then he couldnt control it.
The guy is such a hypocrite. I didn't even bring up football, actually I never have in this thread. I have just commented on it when someone else brings it up.

Because I like those people and they aren't constantly bringing up how bad the Big Ten was at defense in football this year every chance they can get like you
