Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

Only you would try to equate the two.

Why won't anybody answer the question though? What would Iowa's tourney outlook be if they weren't robbed in Minny?

What would ISU's seed be if they didn't lose at Texas? I don't know

In your little troll mind you did. Most rational bball fans recognize Iowa was robbed in that game.

But the question still remains, what would Iowa's NCAA tourney shape be in if they weren't robbed in that game?

Hard to say. Maybe they don't win these last two road games if they win the Minny game. Or maybe they don't lose some of the other games. No way of knowing if they learned some things from that loss that helped them in recent weeks or if that loss caused them to lose games they wouldn't have if they would have been granted a timeout, followed that up being not turning it over, followed by hitting free throws and getting a stop.

No, just come over to the dark side. You'll want to hop on the bandwagon now for the upcoming final fours over the next few years.

Meh, thanks for the offer, but I'll pass. I spent 3 years in that cesspool in Eastern Iowa, and I'll stick with my current rooting interests. I'm excited for a crop of young, talented Cyclones to come in next year.

Fun team to watch, though.

I generally don't consider games where neither team can get out of the 50's in scoring as "fun" games to watch. Competitive maybe, but generally not fun.

Credit to Iowa for getting the win. But could easily see Iowa getting a win that they needed like that and then lay an egg at home to a team they should beat.

They average a single point less than ISU on the season. I understand the ISU v Iowa hate between the two programs, but if you take a step back, believe it or not, it is possible to enjoy watching basketball being played by a team not from Ames.

They would pretty much be in the tourney with a win over Penn State had the Minnesota game gone their way.

19-12(11-7) with a win over Minnesota and they would have been looking pretty good.

I still don't think Iowa will be good next year.

Bohannon- He's a decent shooter sometimes, but he's not athletic, can't play defense so how much better can he really get?
Moss- Not good
Ellingson- good shooter but can't get his own shot and plays on a team where nobody can create shots for teammates
Pemsel- good for one or two post moves a game. Slow, not athletic, not jump shot.
Wagner- Athletic guy, but no real basketball skills
Kriener- Not a division I basketball player
Uhl- Bad
Baer- Plays hard, a good meat and potatoes guy if you had a bunch of talent around you. He's limited, but a guy you like to have off the bench
Cook- I'll admit after last night I have probably been a little hard on him. He has potential. Rebounded better, and blocked a couple of shots. Too bad he doesn't have much talent around him.

Iowa doesn't have anyone who can break you down off the dribble or guys that can get their own shot. They are an NIT, or maybe in the crappy Big 10, a bubble team at best over the next few years unless Fran can magically start recruiting better.

He already has three 4-stars and another that might be pushing 5-star coming in over the next 3 years, thats a pretty good start.

Kind of what I was thinking. Now they have to win two to be on the wrong side of the bubble, three to be on the good side and four to be a lock. Still don't think they make it. That robbery really hurts right now.

I've wondered this as well as I've watched Iowa. They play hard and play pretty well together. It's hard to estimate Jok's overall impact. They were up and down without him, but I think they may struggle next year without him as there really aren't many stand-alone scoring threats on that roster.

You also just wonder about the ceiling on some of these guys. Do they have much room to develop, or do you have this year what you'll have for 4 years? It's not at all uncommon in college basketball to see guys who have good freshman years not get better, and have other teams figure out their game.

Who, his kids? I've seen them play, I'm not impressed. That Muscatine kid is ok, but I'll take our 4 star recruits over him all day.

I know Wisconsin fans are pretty mad about the robbery last night
