The only difference was Iowa State was playing for a trip to the Sweet 16 against a 2 seed, and Iowa was playing a regular season game @ an average Minnesota.

And the fact there was about 20 seconds left in the Iowa game and over a minute left in the ISU game.

One was a missed foul call, the other was Iowa making a dumb play, dribbling in the corner and hoping the refs could hear them on the road calling timeout

Actually the Iowa game was 2 missed calls. The missed timeout and the missed MN player standing out of bounds that caused the tie up.

It's ok that you don't know the difference between a regular season game and actually having a chance to go to the Sweet 16.

I don't think they missed the timeout call honestly. Ellingson dribbled himself into a big time trap, on the road and in front of Minnesota's bench. He put himself in a position for the ref to not be able to hear him

What does this have to do with how much time was left on the clock and how bad the calls were by the refs? Try and follow along.

LOL, wow. Well they were claiming that year it was better for them to play in the NIT than it was to make the tournament.
I don't recall anyone saying anything close to that. I think the majority of Iowa fan's were just happy to get to any type of postseason play that year. It was Gatens' senior year and a lot of fans were just happy that he got to experience post-season play, even if it was only the NIT.

I think it was the year they went to the NIT final. Before the postseason started the narrative was that it would be better for them to go to the NIT than be one and done in the NCAA Tournament.

I guess we won't see any more posts on here acting like what Jon Miller or Chad Leistikow say represents the Iowa fanbase.

JK I know we will.

Jon Miller represents the fan base very well. He has made a living ripping Iowa fans off and being that lead fan. Jon Miller is the typical Iowa fan.

Get ready for that narrative to start next week. Heard it brought up on KXNO's Sports Fanatics early this week as what would benefit Iowa more.

Obviously Iowa used that NIT run 5 years ago to vault the program to what we see today.

There can't be people dumb enough to rather have an NIT over an NCAA appearance. There just can't be
