Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

But he is not a 40 % shooter. With his last great game...he managed to raise his percentage to 37. Before that ONE great night, which Hok fans will talk about for decades no doubt, he was hitting at a 34 % clip from behind the arc. That would make him a worse 3 point shooter than every starter on ISU's team, including Burton. The 37% gets him to a virtual tie with Deonte (36.9). I don't think any ISU fan will call Deonte a great shooter......ever. Next game he is likely to go 2/10, or worse.

Hok fans think Little Bo is a great shooter from 3 because he is the best on their team from distance who is allowed to play any minutes. The best outside shooter is BE at like 50% but in his wisdom and brilliant use of his strange, chaotic, indefensible or explainable rotation system Mad Fran cannot seem to find many minutes for a great outside shooter.

He is 68 of 172, 39.5%

If you watched him all year you would also know he takes way tougher shots playing as a PG than he would have to as a SG. He takes 25' shot with regularity, and is still hitting 40% of them. Teams guard him all the way out to 25' as well because they know he will pull and hit from that range.

Say what you want about other aspects of his game, he has a quick release and can flat out shoot the ball.

I think Jordan would get minutes as he is a great shooter. He is a Fr bombing away from 25' and he is hitting 40% of them. Now he wouldn't play 1 single min of PG for ISU, but if Prohm couldn't find minutes for a 40% 3 pt shooter, shame on Prohm.

This conference plays real defense. Bohannon would get abused. The Big 12 actually is what the Big 10 homers like to think it is.

He's shooting 36.5% from the floor and the reason he has to take those tough shots is because he's the size of a middle schooler

10 Cyclone fans picked 11 wins or more in conference. 69 picked 10 or less.

Can you tell us all how we're underachieving this year? TIA.

Welcome to 2 weeks ago, please try and keep the discussion current.

And I believe I only referenced the 22 regular season wins everybody predicted, could be wrong though.

You asked what ISU fans expectations were for the season, 69 picked 10 or less, 10 picked 11 or more. Just keeping you informed.

You are either a liar or don't know basic math. Take out his 8/10 Saturdday night from behind the arc and he is at 60/162 for the season, which is right at 37%.

Link? I never said anything remotely like this. You must have me confused with someone else.

I assume if you had us losing at home to teams other than OU you defintely didnt have us winning another road game...

Oh and FYI... yeah I was pretty confident we would take care of business at home...

My bad....I assumed Iowa was capable of updating their stats more quickly, but I guess they have trouble doing basic math, huh?

He is shooting 39.5 after a GREAT night. You know that won't hold, and he will finish the year somewhere in the 35 to 37 range. He does not take any more difficult shots than Monte as a PG. Part of him being guarded out to 25 feet might be because he can be guarded out that far, as there is little danger of him being able to drive around someone to the basket or for a closer shot.

I agree, he should be a 2....but Mad Fran has not been able to recruit or develop a quality PG, and the future does not look all that bright either.

You cant be serious? I didnt say we would win 1 more game. In fact look at my post directly below yours where I said we would get to 9-9. Only thing I said was I wasnt confident at that point we would run the table at home, not get 1 more home win.

"IF" they can get to 9-9... BS you thought they would win the requisite 3 games needed to get to 9-9. If you thought they would win 3 more games why the **** were you asking me how I could be confident they would "take care of business at home?"

You had just spent the last 2 days whining about losing on the road at Texas and trying to convince people ISU would struggle to beat Nebraska on the road.

CyTwins: Serious question here. Has Bohannon been worse, better or about the player you thought he would be so far?

You're not even making sense. In the post you just quoted I said if we would have beaten Texas we could have started talking about our NCAA seed at that point. That obviously means I thought we would easily get 3 more wins somewhere.

Thats a quite the stretch of me saying we would win 1 more game the entire season on Feb 9th. Show me that post where I said "Since we lost to Texas I predict we will only win 1 more game", then Ill admit I was wrong.

He's been about the player I expected him to be I just thought he'd be playing 15-20 mpg instead of having to play most of the game. He's a streaky shooter who is a liability defensively and can't get to the rim or create for others which is pretty much what I expected. His shot selection is worse than I expected though. I didn't expect him to have the green light like Fran has given him to pull up from anywhere or try to take it to the rim to get blocked

I've been busy all day with work, but I thought I would check in over lunch. Are people seriously trying to convince us that Bohannon is good now??? Wow, he had one good shooting night, but he's still a tiny little loser who can't play defense. Outside of the last game, he's been exactly who I thought he'd be. An undersized point guard who may be able to hit some 3's against a terrible defensive team, but generally a huge liability on both sides of the floor. It's almost a joke that he starts at pg for a "major" (if you can call Iowa that) basketball program.

Then why ask me why I was so confident we would take care of business at home? Or post this stroke of genius?

I mean those are the words of someone who obviously thought this team would get to 9-9 and easily in the tournament...
