Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

If you think, even for a second, that our back court of Wigginton and Jackson will be fearful of Iowa's guards, then I don't know what to tell you. Add in an experienced Babb and there's still no comparison. Sorry, but the only people high on Iowa's young roster are Iowa fans.

Who said your players would be fearful of Iowa's back court? Little dramatic there, dont ya think?

Jackson is a decent player but Babb does not concern me at all.

Wiggington will be a good player.

Dozens of posters in this thread (many who were banned then changed their name) have said this for 8 years in a row now and been laughably wrong every year. It's the reason this thread is so long. Laughing at Iowa fans jealousy and irrational delusions and being wrong year after year after year.

It's finally possible next year, but it's still only something like a 50/50 shot. Iowa is loosing their only dangerous scorer, bringing back a talented sophomore forward and the rest of their team I'd frankly rather pass on and roll the dice with other players. Lindell Wiggington could very easily be the best player on either team, I'll actually be surprised if he isn't. Most likely scenario is both teams miss the NCAA next year, not Iowa winning the Big Ten like threads I see on your sites.

I look at what teams return, not what they lose. When ISU lost Ejim and Kane they returned a ton. When you lost Niang, Nadar and McKay you returned a ton. This year you lose pieces which isn't a big deal, but you return virtually nothing, kind of like MSU this year. If they played in the Big12 MSU would be finishing mush lower than they are in a weak BigTen.

Well that's stupid considering he's a finalist for the best 2 in the country right now

It's not a PIG!!!!! For all the talk of Iowa basketball being down, it's truly the hok basketball fan that has plummetted the farthest. What Lick did to the team/program was correctable. What he did to the fanbase and is still doing to the fanbase is not correctable. WOOF. Watch a game that's not your own or in your own conference hok fan.

Wish you had been around the previous 8 years because you're a billion times less stupid than most of the Iowa posters in this thread...again the reason it's so long is because it's really fun to laugh at them. If you were to go back to the times all of that actually happened, you'll find Iowa fans incorrectly dreaming it was "finally the year" they'd have a better season than ISU but it just never happens and it's fun to laugh at them.

You're still overestimating your chances and here's why: you aren't taking your own advice. Iowa doesn't return much of quality. Cook and Baer are pieces I'd like to have on my team, the rest of your roster are players only Hawkeye fans covet. Iowa could be better because you're right that ISU loses a ton and has largely freshman and sophomores filling in outside of Jackson...but Iowa is not returning the powerhouse you think they are. They're returning a below average roster. 50/50 shot, it's not some lock that after nearly a decade of wishing and hoping that Iowa will finally have a better season as ISU enters its first true rebuilding year after 6 straight successful seasons when most of your fans though many of those were rebuilding years.

They are the 7th youngest team in the country. They return over 60 PPG, 30 RPG and 15 APG, they will all improve. Losing 1 player won't hurt at all, they will be better next year.

They will? Did Woodbury, Gesell and Clemmons all improve their sophomore year after their freshman year? The problem with Iowa is their young players aren't very talented

How do you know they'll all improve? Woody and Gessell didn't improve every year.

If you don't think life will get harder for Bohannon in some ways not playing beside the Big Ten's leading scorer you haven't watched much basketball. His 3pt % very easily could go down if other Iowa guards don't because bulk scoring threats.

You will find that I am probably the most reasonable person you will find, so by default that will make me the most reasonable Hawk fan you will find.

ISU just doesn't return much and that is usually tough on teams, just an observation of what happens historically is all.

Iowa isn't gonna be a world beater next year, but they will be better than this year (which isn't saying a lot as they are a NIT team this year).

I do know that lots of players have gotten a lot better at Iowa. Especially players who were not top recruits. Marble, White, Uthoff (outside of a top 100 recruit) and Jok.

Have all players improved that much? No, but serveral have.

You're right. I worded that poorly. It's the fans that will have an inflated idea of how much better Iowa's guards are than ISU's. And Jackson is better than "decent". The dude has played lights out the last half of the season. He's better than any guard Iowa has. Jok may score more points, but he has no idea how to play defense.

Olaseni made huge strides while at Iowa as well.

Now I have heard it all.

A guy averaging 6 PPG, 1 RPG and 1 APG is better than Jok because he can play better defense.

Woody improved, Clemmons regressed and Mike was pretty mush the same.

Maybe I phrased it wrong. More players than not will improve and the team as a whole will be better.

Jok is better than Jackson. Jackson would be your second best guard though, think if you would have landed him instead of Bohannon how much better you would be
