Is Baer the biggest dork in P5 basketball? That celebration was, uh, it was something. Perfect representation of a team fighting to stay above .500.

The simple answer is yes.

Yet, there's something endearing about Baer. He walked-on and has worked hard to live his dream... his dream of playing in front of hundreds of murmuring fans in an underground arena at a school known across the Midwest for the questionable drunken decision-making of its fanbase and the questionable education level of both its graduates and sheepish followers. Nicholas Baer is their shepherd and they are his lambs. He protects his flock with a security system that utilizes both infrared and motion-detecting technology that he picked up on clearance at Menards and installed himself. Finding this value, he'll use his savings to buy Kemps Select Skim Milk this month. Only the freshest is the bestest.

1980 is 36 years ago now. Getting close to where not even any middle aged people can remember. Sure they were a great program in the late 70s and 80s, it was a great part of my childhood being a fan of them, but that is incredibly remote stuff to most people if they remember at all.

After all that and ISU being better that Iowa by far or the last 20 years, why are there so many instate kids that want to go play from Fran. Granted most are not getting offers from ISU, but most are Iowa fans that go there. Fran really needs to thank the parents of these kids for brainwashing them from an early age, or he wouldn't have many decent players.

He spent all day yesterday talking about how much he cares about them "making the tournament" instead of losing in the play in game
