I think it is funny as hell when people hate one another based solely on their allegiance to a college's athletic program. I don't hate the cyclones. Some of their fans are dicks, but some of Iowa's fans are as well. People who get their panties in a wad over all of this need to probably sit down for some quality introspection.
Not from the state, so there's thatMy high school leaned more towards ISU since I live in central Iowa so I cant really relate, only to say that there are going to be extreme groups in every fanbase.
I dont get the hatred myself, never understood how people can go against other teams in their own state like that.
Which school did you go to? 1,400+ in your graduating class?Yeah, but it is tough when you have a graduating class of 1,400+, and you are literally the only person (to go or cheer) for Iowa State

school called Neuqua Valley in Illinois. I was the last grad class that still had our full class before our new school in the district took a portion of the kids from ours and our rivals school. It was insanity, but it prepared me for some of the **** I would deal with in college.Which school did you go to? 1,400+ in your graduating class?

and I am not joking when I say I was the only one to go to Iowa State out of HS. I think 2 others transferred there throughout the four years, though.
Did that school have a lot of people go to Iowa then? Why was it so pro Iowa?school called Neuqua Valley in Illinois. I always knew Iowa had a national fan base.

Yeah, there was a lot of kids who went to Iowa and their parents were Iowa alum. It's been stated on here before the Chicago-land is very pro-Iowa, or even just Big 10, for that matter. But our largest percentages of kids went to Kentucky, Arizona, and Mizzou. Then I think it was Illinois State, Illinois, Indiana and Iowa. IIRC.I always knew Iowa had a national fan base.
I graduated from the University of Iowa. I know Chicago has a ton of people who go there. I was more asking why so many from his school in particular were so pro Iowa, but he answered my question. You just got outed as not going to Iowa.
I see there being no sense in having a major in-state rival if you and your friends of the opposing team don't pick on each other about it.So you have a passing interest in Iowa like alot of us, but you still chose to rip them? I dont get it.
The University of Iowa is 45.6% non-Iowa residents according to their website. Most of that % is from Illinois I would assume.Isn't half of their enrollment from Illinois though?

Having fans that didn't go to school is good for said school's athletic department. The "they didn't go to school there!" complaint is so tired and overplayed. As a graduate of the University of Iowa I've met ******** who were graduates and I've met ******** who were non graduates and that goes for both schools.Iowa's ***hole fans are way worse than ISU's. Ive seen it time and time again, they think they are better than other people just because they happen to "like" one team over another. A majority of them never even went to Iowa which is the part that really gets me.
I dont have an issue if you are a die-hard and actually attended the school, but thats not usually the case.
What's sad is you living your life on a message board. What a sad life you must live if you consider losing a PLAY IN game as an NCAA Tournament appearance. I honestly feel bad for you
Chicagoland area, whatever. Most people who are from that area, who go to Iowa, say they are from Chicago, even though most of the time they're not from the actual city proper of Chicago.????
CYTwins leaves and this place actually turns civil for once, imagine that.
