Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

Iowa State fans are very knowledgeable. I mean there are Hawkeye fans that say if you lose in the play in game (the game you have to win to play your way into the tournament) still counts as an NCAA tournament appearance

Give them a break, they have a banner that says so...

Please someone dig up some of the posts on here about Iowa would rather play in the NIT than the real tournament. If you could also dig up the posts about how they were going to beat Baylor since Iowa beat us and we swept Baylor that would be fantastic. Those were some good times.

Boy talk about vastly differing futures after that NIT title game. Baylor has proved again and again that they can put very good teams on the court, meanwhile Iowa keeps slowly circling the drain.

Looks like it officially does:

Your opinion doesn't matter, cause these are facts. So you're wrong, again. What a shocker.

Cmon dude we know the NCAA says if you make the play in game you "technically" made the NCAA tournament but no fan of college basketball says losing a play in game, the game you have to play in to get into the tournament counts as an appearance.

Well obviously it does count as an appearance. I didn't make up or create the criteria for what an NCAA Tournament appearance constitutes. So, go ***** to the NCAA if it's that big of deal to you.

What a sad life you must live if you consider losing a PLAY IN game as an NCAA Tournament appearance. I honestly feel bad for you

I think Iowa also won at Virginia during that NIT run that year. Just look at the direction Virginia went from there, winning ACC titles and getting #1 seeds, meanwhile Iowa used that as a launchpad for a play in game.

It's not about whether I consider it or whether you consider it. The NCAA, which has the only opinion that matters in this situation, considers it. I could care less whether they consider the play in game an appearance or not, doesn't affect my life or happiness. But they do, so it is in fact an appearance.

If ISU lost in a play in game I would NEVER consider it an NCAA Tournament appearance regardless what the NCAA says but then again I don't live a sad, miserable life.

So you do care. Sad

At the very least, a bracket with six 16 seeds, five 12 seeds, and five 11 seeds is ugly.

I don't care. If they took away the appearance being official today, I would not give a ****. You're the one that cares so much that people count it.

You just said you cared! Your exact words:

I could care less whether they consider the play in game an appearance or not
