Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

Six of one, half a dozen of another. Regardless of if you favor the morons of Hawkeye Nation or the morons of Hawkeye Report, a poll of Hawk fans on a Hawk website is still a fair representation if you're asking a question about the opinions of Hawk fans.

...unless you've got some evidence to the contrary, that goes beyond the anecdotal "I didn't expect to make the tourney, and no one I know did either."

It got so bad that Leistikow had to break it to his twitter and facebook followers that Iowa isn't making the tournament in his piece on 2/16/17. Talk about delusion.

Yeah Jordan can play. Over 9 PPG and over 4 APG from a guy who has athletic limitations is petty good.

Losing an All conference performer and being better isn't a stretch. They did it when Gatens left, they did fine when they lost Marble, and then White. The rest of the team is all a year older, and better. Moss is gonna be good, Cook will be a beast and Pemsl is crafty around the rim.

How do you think ISU will do next year losing 4 key contributors if you think losing one guy is a killer? Just curious is all. Players are typically replaceable, but as Iowa found out, when you lose 4 of them it is tough.

Anyone can average 9 ppg when you shoot 8.4 times per game

I already told you but you chose not to read or cannot understand.

Think your'e going to be disappointed in March next year, sorry I threw you a bone.

Well, from last season we lost first team All-American Georges Niang, plus future pros Abdel Nader and Jameel McKay.........and we're right on track for the tournament. Again. I think most posters here are sanguine about 2017-2018 being a down year, but the recruiting class Prohm is bringing in is highly thought of, and by March, well......who knows?

He is putting up numbers as a freshman that are comparable to Matt Thomas and Naz as sophomores.

Matt was a highly touted recruit that played pretty poorly his first two years. Naz averaged more points as a sophomore on less shots. Moss has been garbage in conference play

But their numbers as sophomores are comparable to Moss' numbers as a freshman, not sure how you can disagree. Naz averaged 0.3 more PPG on 0.5 less shots per game as a sophomore than Moss averages as a freshman.

Yeah Naz shot less, scored more and didn't suck at defense. Not seeing the correlation

check the link I posted. On Jon Miller's site, before the season, there was a poll of over 400 people. 74 percent of the respondents said they thought Iowa would make the NCAA tourney, this year.

You and everyone you know must have been in that 26%, I guess.

To be fair in a down Big 10 and the tourney and with 68 teams need to fill the field fans should have expectations of making the tourney or at least see a reasonable path there. I know I'll expect ISU to be a tourney team next year even with the seniors leaving.

I won't defend Hawk fans lack of ability to see the talent wasn't tourney level before season.
I will be curious to see if they have come to terms with their talent and realize baring some impact transfer coming in at PG they will likely miss again next year. I haven't seen enough improvement from their young players to think they be up to the tourney standard next year.

oops, I guess I didn't see that. If I am disappointed next March it won't be the first time.

Lets not forget that Matt and Naz played on a tourney team with 4 other payers that were averaging in double figures. Who's getting the designed touches that Moss should be getting? He probably gets much better looks/opportunities than the 4th and 5th scoring option on a cyclone team that had 2 very efficient players to run plays to.

And still much more efficient on offense in both cases and much better on defense. Not really that close.
