What metric are they ahead of 7 other teams in the conference in? They have the second worst RPI in the conference and are one of the worst KenPom teams too
Wins, wins is what counts in sports CyTwins, not some metric made up by Ken or some metric made up by Jeff. Wins are the only thing that matters, winning games, that's why teams play.

Two are freshman, one is a sophomore, and one still in HS.

Bohannon: plays 28.5 mins/pg, averages 9.2 ppg, 4.5 apg, and about a 2:1 assist to turnover ratio. Shoots 36.5% from three and 87.5% from free throw line. That aren't bad stats, they're average, and he's a true freshman.

Moss: plays 17.2 min/pg, averages 7.0 ppg, shoots 37.1% from three, 79.3% from free throw line. Again, average and a freshman.

Ellingson: plays 15.4 min/pg, averages 5.2 ppg, shoots 54.9% from three, 100% from free throw line. Again average player, good to great shooter, a sophomore.

McCaffery: Consensus top 150 player, composite of 112. Never played a college game.

So, pretty average.

You think Bohannon, Moss and Ellingson are average P5 guards? Lol quit trolling dude

Umm, Standings? In case you havent heard, thats kind of a big thing in sports.

Conference standings in a league that doesn't play round robin is how you judge a team? Remember that one year Iowa was 6th in the conference standings and didn't get into the NCAA tournament but the 7th and 8th place teams did?

"You play to win the game". I dont know of any athlete who would say, Im glad we lost that game, because it really helped out our KenPom ranking so its all good.

So why not just have all the teams with the most wins play in the NCAA Tournament since wins is all that matters?

So because our front court isn't average it's Missouri level bad? There's a difference between being the worst in the P5 and being average. I can get on board if you think they won't be the worst but I don't see how you can say they will be average next year unless they add someone of significance. That's absurd

Waiting for this answer @jereseib

I'll say they will probably be a below average if you admit they wont be the "worst P5" backcourt. Of course, that would actually require you to admit you were wrong just once, which Im sure has never happened before.

Why is there an ultimatum? I honestly think Iowa could have the worst P5 backcourt in the country next year. Could I be wrong? Absolutely. That's way less bold than saying they will be average next year when they are average at best this year and lose a first team all conference player

I have to agree that Bohannon is the only one that sounds even close to average. A one dimensional player in Ellingson, and an incoming freshman ranked over 100 means that there are about 300-400 players who will likely be better in d1 Thats if you don't even subscribe to the theory that a top 150 sophomore is likely better than a top 100ish freshman, and a top 200 Junior is usually better than a 100ish fresman. let alone power 5.

Bohannon has work to do to get to average, and the others you'll be lucky to have one more guard reach average. Not looking like an average backcourt to me either.

Bohannon is shooting 35% on the season and is one of the worst defenders in the country plus has a really low ceiling. Calling him average is probably pretty generous, he wouldn't be getting minutes here

Lol, I knew it, you just cant make yourself do it.

Dude you just say Iowa was going to have an average backcourt next year! How much of a homer are you?

Average to below average is my final prediction. Worst backcourt of any power 5 team is ridiculous, thats the last thing I have to say about Iowa's 2016-17 backcourt.
