Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

Kind of like how Iowa fans said the following:

"Wait until next year when you guys don't have Royce White"
"You guys will be lost without Kane"
"you guys are going to miss Ejim and Hogue"

I think you get the point...

The difference between the 2 programs is one of the teams has found a way to avoid the set back year and the other hasn't. Don't get me wrong, we have some HUGE shoes to fill next year but with what we will return and what we have coming in plus a couple of grad transfers I don't see a huge step back at all. I'm not saying that we will be an NCAA tournament team next year but I wouldn't rule it out either.

What grad transfers do you have coming for next year? I know Kasango is eligible next year but who else?

See how much OU relied on Buddy Hield last year and where they are this year? They relied on some other seniors as well but replacing a dynamic scorer isn't going to be easy. Especially if you're trying to replace him with Moss.

It wont be one guy next year, rather a group of the younger players will make up the difference from losing Jok. Iowa is averaging 83 PPG this year, I would be shocked if that number dips below 80 PPG next year.
You HAVE to put significant weight into Jok's ability to hit the "bad" shot. That is damn tough to replace. I'm not saying Iowa won't be able to score because they do have other scorers but every team is building their defensive game plan around Pete and nobody has slowed him down. I'm sorry but you just don't replace that with balance scoring because there are way too many intangibles that come along with his ability to hit the tough shots and he makes everyone else a better player.

They kicked the **** out of us with 4 freshman and a Senior.

I don't think our gap on the perimeter will be big enough to overcome them being better inside. Just my opinion.
That is one of the worst efforts out of an Iowa State team in recent memory...

Oh that's tough, I'll just guess here

PG - Wigginton
SG - Jackson
SF - Babb/Lewis
PF - Young/Lard
PF - Grad transfer

So you think Kasango will start? Or is there another grad transfer that is eligible to play next year?

So you think they'll be better in the post, we'll be better on the perimeter and we have a better coach. Not sure how you think they will be better
They'll be much better in the post whereas our advantage in the backcourt isn't so clear. We got pushed around by freshman just over a month ago, so as much as I'm optimistic on Prohm, he's not giving us an edge in this game.

We could land a stud grad transfer, Lard and Young could be really good next year. Who knows. We'll have the clear advantage in the back court next year with Wigginton

We're probably a 7 seed right now, they might not even be an NIT team.

I guess we will see won't we?

They have a chance to go on a decent winning streak. 11-7 right now.

I always want to beat Iowa, but I guess it's tough being one of those people who likes seeing them do well against other teams not named ISU.
