Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

The same refs from the ISU OSU game? Iowa got all the calls, especially the one with 11 seconds left.

...for... for real?
Who's gonna create their own shots next year for Iowa? Jok is a huge part of your offense. I like Cook but Iowa's relied on 1 big scorer with this year and the previous two.

There's not one guy on your roster next year besides Cook that you know you're gonna get 12-15 plus.

Same with ISU next year. Idk who ISU will be able to rely on either.

Pemsl, Cook, Moss.

Pemsl, Cook, Moss.
So Moss is going to replace Jok's 25 ppg? Moss who is average 5 points the last two games?

You have some good core pieces and Pemsl and Jorbo have been better than I thought; I just don't think Iowa has a guy that can go get his shot off the dribble whenever he wants next year.

I said coming into this year Jok is going to have to put up 25-30 for you to win games and that is proving to be right. This team relies on Peter, much like last year relied on Uthoff and the year before with White.

It's a team game and they'll be fine. Moss is probably the one that can create his own shots. He had 16 straight points vs Nebraska the other night. He may never be the long distance shooter that Jok is but he potentially can be a better slasher and take it to the rim sort of guy. He scored 14 vs ISU and doesn't rely on jump shots to score all of his points.

Most teams have a scorer they can depend on. ISU has Morris. It's not like the others are going to put up 25 points a game either.

Iowa does have an impressive Fresh class and really team this year. There are 2 things you have to remember and that Fran has to figure out. One is his teams peak in Jan the other is it seems he has usually does have solid Freshmen that don't get better as the years go by. They struggle with making that next step. But yes Fran has done wonders with this group, there are other young teams (Texas, OU, OSU) that are also young with bigger name coaches that are not having the same success Iowa is.

They won't replace Jok next year. Moss has a lot of the best parts of Marble's game, but he won't be an 18-20ppg guy next season. This freshman class is damn good, but 2018-19 is probably the year that they really make noise. They could be good next year if the young guys develop, but next year's team will be more dependent on the guys in the paint and hopefully Moss and Bohannon can do enough to keep defenses honest. I'd be absolutely thrilled if Iowa got 20-24 ppg out of Bohannon/Moss and let Cook/Pemsl do a lot of the heavy lifting. Then you've got Baer, who's just the ultimate glue guy who can give your team a spark in a lot of different ways (sometimes it's with his scoring, other times he's just cleaning the glass all night, and sometimes he just comes up with one or two great hustle plays that get things going).

If Naz Long isn't making the corner shot, he's really not doing much of anything else.
Burton is a SR who will probably play overseas next year. That's his ceiling.
Same goes for Thomas..another SR who is a 10-12 points a game guy.
Will be interesting to see ISU's team next year after losing their top 5 current scorers to graduation.

Do you actually watch ISU bball? Naz has been extremely effective taking it to the rim this year. Been our most consistent finisher around the rim.

Caught the tail end of this game last night. Nice win for them = better loss for ISU since it's the only bad loss on the resume.

I think the crowd even stood up a couple of times toward the very end there, and they seemed to keep The Russian in check at the end anyway.

That's a very large dude.

1. Wrong, Naz attacks the rim a lot. Naz also doesn't shoot the corner three as much as other players like Matt.

2. Most likely, overseas isn't the worst career. I don't know it you could call it his ceiling though. He may even get drafted late second round because of his freak body.

3. True

4. A step back but I still think tourney is realistic. We have one of the top PG's coming in. We might have a real low post presence and we have Hilton magic. My guess would be the 8/9 range.
