Re: Iowa MBB definitely not a #1 seed

Iowa is dangerously close to 4-seed territory right now. I wonder how many Hawk fans already snapped up tickets for Des Moines. They might end up in Providence or Raleigh or Spokane instead.

Depending on how things shake out, Iowa and Iowa State might end up competing not only for seeding purposes but perhaps also for who gets sent to OKC over Denver, or Denver over Spokane.

Re: Iowa MBB definitely not a #1 seed

Iowa opened up as a 9.5 pt favorite. Something is going on in that locker room

Agreed

Gesell is bad, bad.

Iowa is good when Uthoff is making shots and mediocre when he isnt. His percentages have really fallen off and iowa is coming back to the appropriate level.

Re: Iowa MBB definitely not a #1 seed

Rob Howe must have been talking about individual interviews and not the post game presser then

Why do you follow Iowa websites on Twitter? You literally know more about Iowa in real time than any Iowa fan I know.

Re: Iowa MBB definitely not a #1 seed

Is it possible that Iowa's most overrated football team AND most overrated basketball team in history has been this year? Serious question.

The difference is they play enough games in basketball to be exposed by the end of the year so not sure they'll finish overrated.

Re: Iowa MBB definitely not a #1 seed

An ISU fan retweeted that Rob Howe thing last night. Andy Garmon retweeted the video of Gesell asking for fans to come to Carver. I follow enough local media and apparently ISU fans that dislike Iowa so when something happens that isn't positive for them I usually see it

Re: Iowa MBB definitely not a #1 seed

Last time Iowa State lost a home game to a team as bad as Wisconsin was Nov. 30, 2011 to UNI.

Texas Tech and Oklahoma in 2011 were much much worse than Wisconsin this year and we lost to both, but thank god that was still a long time ago. Since then almost all our home losses have basically been to top 10 teams or close to it.

All top 20 teams at worst by the end of the year. Mizzou, Kansas, Kansas, Baylor, Baylor, WVU are the 6 home losses since the UNI loss in Fred's second season. Fred's first season we were terrible, returned Scotty, JVB and DG as our 3 scholarship players.

Re: Iowa MBB definitely not a #1 seed

So if we compare resumes Iowa has by far the worst home loss and worst road loss this season and we have the worst neutral court loss. We beat them at home and have a higher RPI now, all while having a down year for our standards.

Re: Iowa MBB definitely not a #1 seed

Carver hawkeye arena called....

Out of embarrassment, they asked to have the hawkeye removed from the name. Going with Crappy Carver instead.
Hey now, I am from Muscatine. Carver was from Muscatine. Can we get Carver and the Muscatine connection off that mausoleum? After last night, call it Happless Hawkeye Arena.
