Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Iowa is 7-3 vs the RPI top 50. Wtf are you taking about sir?

Fran didn't seem comfortable going to his bench in Hilton. All of your starters except for Jok played over 35 minutes in a hostile environment, and they made some very bad plays down the stretch. Hell, the color guy called it with about 15 minutes left IIRC.

No argument from me. Although I don't know how much it would have helped to their the younger guys into THAT fire.

There just isn't an argument that Iowa has played a weak schedule until this point. None whatsoever.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

If Iowa wins at Maryland on Thursday, they very well could win out. Indiana is not as good as their record and I don't see Iowa losing to a midpack team or at home. If that happens, they most certainly will be a #1 seed and may also be ranked #1 depending on how OU and NC fare from here on out.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

After watching this game today I decided to go back and look at how Purdue got themselves ranked. They've beat absolutely no one so far this season. Their best win was at home to Michigan with losses to Iowa, Butler and Illinois. How was this team ranked at all?

I could see how this would be considered a decent win, but it's been discussed as a win against one of the better teams in the conference. I just don't see it.
I don't think Purdue is a team that we would want to play. We are a finesse team and might have trouble with their bigs. JMHO. In the big ten I think we would match up a lot better with teams like Michigan and Indiana. Same type of game and we would have better talent.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

ISU's next three games:

#3 KU
#10 A & M
#6 West Virg

Iowa's three after Maryland?

Northwestern
Penn St
Illinois

Their mbb season eerily like their "Fake I.D. of College Football" season

Maryland is possibly the most overranked team in the country, zero good wins all year.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Bringing up an exhibition loss is pretty pathetic. Sure a loss is to but there was absolutely nothing on the line, Iowa probably took the day off mentally or partied too hard.

Whatever caused the loss, looks like it was squashed. If anything, the exhibition game loss helped Iowa. Am I off base?

Totally agree. Sweeping Purdue and MSU is nuts.

Based on a conveniently selected stretch of 3 games? Sure ISU's schedule is tougher. But Iowa's is nowhere near as bad as their FB season.

Really? Who have they beaten this year that makes you worry about them. They lost to Illinois.

Really? lol "After Maryland" They've already beaten MSU twice and Purdue twice. They've had one of the toughest schedules. Just be glad Iowa is helping ISU's RPI by winning all these.

And we lost to UNI. Also, in case you forgot, Illinois played us reasonably tough for the majority of our game with them and we had Naz then.

We do tend to struggle against size but it is usually more athletic size than Purdue has. Would be an interesting game but I think we would pull it out.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

You understand Purdue won't be ranked Monday right. Sweep of MSU is impressive. They have a couple good wins, I just don't understand the ballwashing going on

Surprising. You seem pretty open minded about all this.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Come on man, Woodbury is a little goofy but he's tough. Everyone hates that guy unless he's on your team. He's certainly had a solid career even if it fell short of top 50 recruit projections.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

It's virtually impossible to gauge an atmosphere by tv sound. It can vary from crew to crew. I'd wager that most posters particularly in this forum haven't been in Carver. It doesn't hold sound in like Hilton but at court level it is as loud as any other arena when full. Underrated venue IMHO but as of last year they really needed to upgrade the video boards.
