Nothing about that is weird. Weird that you're cool with the HS 'blueblood' being the darling and being the clear favorite of the guys in the broadcast booth. But whatever.
I can only assume you’re not a native of Iowa then to know about the recruiting they do. FWIW, I do not like Dowling. One of the most vulgar and arrogant staff I’ve been around on a sideline when I was on the chain gang at Ames High.
The church affiliated schools are always the worst, parents too.
And the grandparents. Holy sh*t the grandparents.
Lewis Central (Hunter Deyo) is playing Harlan (Will McLaughlin). Both schools are ranked at or near the top, Harlan in 3A and Lewis Central in 4A. Harlan finished 11-1 and state runner up last year. Lewis Central finished 8-2, with both of their losses to Harlan.

Don’t have a ton of experience dealing w/ their fans, but I would pay attention to their crowd whenever they played us in BB. The looks on some of the grandparents was not healthy.
It's not even just the church schools. Daughter #1 had an 8th grade club volleyball tourney years ago and the Johnston grandparents were certifiably psychotic. Embarrassing behavior.
We're just one snap away from this game being 14-0.
Pretty sure all the overrated claims about #5 from the state championship game can officially STFU.
