Scotty..

Agreed. Only pointing out that in the grand scheme of NCAA basketball, 1000 points isn't exactly anything to differentiate your career.

Bet a lot more players don't get 1000 then do! Congrats SC!!!!

Him driving opens up more 3s for him. But I think he does turn down good looks for 3s at times. Yesterday he drove and made some nice 12 to 15 footers instead of taking it to the hoop. If he can do that that will open up even more shots for someone.

First of all - having someone average above 8 points a game for four years is a big accomplishment. I'm not saying Scottie is going to have his jersey hang from the rafters or anything, but watching players grow over the their careers is one of the reasons people love college basketball. It wasn't until last year that Scottie stepped up and became a sharpshooter for this team and probably the best true shooter in the league. Without DG this year, he's had to become more than just a spot-up shooting which brings me to my second point.

I love what Scottie has developed over the last four or five games. He seems to have figured out that he can give a strong pump fake, take two or three dribbles to the middle, and nail a mid-range jumper. This is far more effective that him trying to take it into the paint which often times led to a turnover. Scottie has become a much more complete player in his years at ISU and it's been fun to watch for this fan. I'm happy that he'll achieve his dream of playing in the NCAA tournament.

List of NCAA Division I men's basketball career scoring leaders - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In basketball, points are the sum of the score accumulated through free throw or field goal.[1] In National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I basketball, where a player's career is at most four seasons long, it is considered a notable achievement to reach the 1,000-points scored threshold. In even rarer instances, players have reached the 2,000- and 3,000-point plateaus (no player has ever scored 4,000 or more points at the Division I level).

It's definitely distinguishable. And all real basketball fans recognize across the country when a player does it as an impressive feat. I'm gonna guess that he has 1,006 more than you

Do the math. A 4 year starter gets to 1000 by averaging fewer than 8 PPG.

May hold some truth if he was a 4 years starter, he is not. Played very few minutes at Marquette and will get to 1,000 in his 3year ISU career very soon.

Great game by Scotty yesterday, surprised he has been able to adjust to being the main ball-handler as well as he has, especially as of late.
