My Hawkeye friends are claiming Scotty should have been ejected for his "throat slashing" gesture which I informed them was a "you can't guard me" gesture.

They had no problem with Cael getting flipped off in a wrestling match, but a "you can't guard me" gesture is cause for ejection. Unreal. I now know why I avoid talking to these guys on Iowa State vs. Iowa game days.

I took it as like the game is over gesture. I like all of the emotion both fanbases have of this game. Its great to have a rivalry back again!

Just watched the game on DVR tape delay....soooo much less stress when you can fast forward through timeouts!!

GO CLONES!!!!

I think its funny! Although, he probably shouldn't do it again, just to be safe.
That being said, when you score 30 pts against your rival, emotions are going to be running high.

Personally I love the swagger. It's exactly what we need out him. Look at the difference between the UNI game and this one. I also saw him do something similar in another game, I forget which one. I'm just disappointed we likely won't be seeing it anymore due to the confusion with it being a "throat slash"

It comes both ways. If a Hawkeye did that I could see ISU fans upset, so we don't have room for talk. It wasn't a great decision by Scott but he seems like a well spoken, respectful guy, so will most likely regret it when the replay is shown.

At the Michigan State meet on Saturday a hawkeye wrestler picked up the MSU guy after the whistle when they both were out of bounds and slammed him into the coaches chairs. The Iowa fans gave him a standing ovation. I don't think anything ISU or it's fans could possibly do would be worse sportsmanship than that.

Anybody puts up 30 the way Scotty did on us later this year and I won't have any problem with them throat slashing.

Exactly and they wouldn't have a problem with it either had it been one of their players that put up 30 against us then did that. Angry that they lost so finding something to ***** about is their way of dealing with it.

Yeah... I can think of a lot of classy Hawkeyes over the years that Iowa fans just loved. Like Metcalf... or how about Matt Roth? Classy. DJK anyone?

Good to know that you have stupid friends.
