Scoreboard update: UNI Preparations?

It is indeed awesome especially for those of us with endzone seats. I guess it was just wanting more and bigger. And with that comment I will probably open the door to the junior high locker room.
How dare you...That was my first thought after seeing it in person and i thought the same thing. You can't mention it on here though. yes we know its 10 times better than the old one, but some of us are just surprised. Also i realize there has to be room for the speakers.
If the entire board were a video board, it would make it the 3rd largest video board in the nation behind Texas and Miami. Iowa State has more important things to spend money on. 14th largest is more than enough.

A scoreboard in the proportion of the logos + video board would look stupid. You stay somewhat close to 16:9 or it starts to look goofy as hell.
You realize if the whole thing was a video board than we would have the biggest video board in the country....right?
It would be like buying a 60 inch flat screen TV to fit into your entertainment center (does anyone us those anymore?). Does the fact that the 60 inch not covering the whole entertainment center, make it any less impressive? No.

When are they going to erect that new scoreboard we keep hearing about? I was hoping they'd do it this summer so it would be ready for the games this year.
Please don't lump me with the chronic complainers. I guess I just hadn't been paying attention to the size of the actual videoboard until I clicked on the webcam. For the record, I spent the weekend bragging about it to Ohio State in-laws who were visiting. It is wonderfully huge, especially for my endzone seats, but just not as huge as I had mistakenly been thinking. I am not on CF every day and just happened on at the right/wrong time to post this observation.
It is also very cool to click on the webcam and see the videoboard working!
The UNI stuff really isn't big news, but honestly I started the thread to get something positive on the front page to offset the big 12 a$$plosion threads. Shoulda counted on this. Dammit.

It's bigger than it looks from a webcam at an angle. Go see it for yourself and you will be surprised.
You can still keep bragging to your OSU in-laws because it's bigger than OSU's video board. :smile:
I was aware of this and enjoyed making that point to a bunch of in-laws who think Ohio State is the best at everything.
