Is West Virginia going to wrestle home and away? I thought they were going to wrestle in the Big 12 tournament but not duals. Seems like a bad idea but I'm pretty sure that was said at one time.

I remembered the same thing and went back to find the article. According to WVU's athletic director, as of last February they were planning on participating in the conference championships, but not any duals.

WVU expected to add men's golf - WVU Sports - Charleston Daily Mail - West Virginia News and Sports -

So do we have any kind of timeline on when the Big XII will figure out the conference wrestling schedule and whether Mizzou will be in the picture or not?

Missouri is not in the picture for the Big 12 in wrestling. They will be in the WWC with UNI. Not sure on the West Virginia situation; I assume they will wrestle the home and away. Big 12 tourney will be same as last year except W Virg instead of Missouri. That's the way I understand it.

I am told that Missouri will not be in the picture. Supposedly something unique is being talked about, but don't know what. Maybe a couple round robin events, where all 4 meet in Ames or Oklahoma and get 3 matches in. Simulate NCAA tournament setting. Just a guess!

Looks like the home-and-home concept with conference opponents has been dropped. Probably a good thing, for now at least.

looks pretty weak compared to the past few years, but i think we need it to build the confidence. no match ups with cornell and minnesota

We need that though. It's still a young team and putting them in situations where they can win is important both for confidence and earning NCAA berths. Plus our schedule the last few years was ridiculously tough so a drop was inevitable. We still have Iowa, the Oklahoma schools twice, and most of the other teams will have a few studs even if they aren't going to challenge for a team title in March. So the team will still be battle tested by NCAAs. I'm glad we don't have a suicidal schedule this year.
