Looks like Pete Link was named new strength coach for MBB. He comes from the women's program. I didn't even know they had an opening, upon further research I don't see Andrew Moser listed anywhere on the website....Did he get fired? Resign? Pretty sure he was head coach for all Olympic sports as well as MBB.

That was my question, what happened to Moser. I know Moser was head for all Olympic sports but personally worked with basketball. He was still listed in the ISU directory as of 5 minutes ago though.

I sure help he's on staff just maybe not working with BB.

Thats weird. He's been working with MBB for a long time.

Link replaces Andrew Moser, a former Cyclone football player who became a graduate assistant at the school in 2001 and was hired full-time in 2003. His position as both the director of strength and conditioning for olympic sports and men’s basketball was eliminated in a department restructuring, according to an ISU spokesperson.

If we're getting rid of coaches because budgetary reasons that's a lie.

Very interesting. I too am wondering what happened to Moser, but all-in-all I think this is a good move. He was Assistant Director of Olympic Sports under Moser.

Hey, guys. Just got a clarification from someone close to the program about the restructuring. Said the budget was not the reason for it. That is, they didn't sit down, look at the budget and say, 'Well, what do we have to eliminate to make this work.' In other words, organizations restructure from time to time and it doesn't mean the budget's necessarily driving it. Not sure if that distinction matters to y'all, just thought I should pass it along. I, too, hope Moser remains around.

I see Moser is doing classes and clinics with Premier Athlete Training which is ran by Ernst Brun, Corey Morrissey, and Ben Durbin. They operate out of the new Sports Iowa there on Highway 30 just on the western edge of Ames and also out of Iowa Fire in Urbandale. I know he use to do camps for ISU so seeing him doing camps through them I'm guessing he's no longer with ISU.

This news disturbs me. Moser was a heck of a guy. The rumors I've heard about what happened to him are a little unnerving... There's some insider stuff going on here, from what I've heard. It's nothing I can confirm of course.

Heard he ended up being the fall guy for player issues and Jameel's debacle this spring.

Also, how does a guy who has been here that long end up no longer working with MBB and it virtually goes unreported and garners no media attention? Something's up

I have no inside knowledge, but I agree it's a bit odd. Longtime employee who, from my perspective, seemed to really help some of our recent players physically develop, and his exit was not announced or reported by anyone.
