RPI back to #10, showdown @#9 looming

We could have been a 1 seed that year but chose the 2 seed so we could play in Minneapolis. Forget where I heard that but remember it being someone credible.

Actually we chose to be the 1 seed in the south but the secretary that took the call at the NCAA was a Stanford grad and totally forgot to tell the committee chairman, so we lost out. Or maybe we chose Minneapolis because it was a shorter drive for Eustachy and his RV. Anyway after that year the NCAA stopped letting teams pick their seeds.

The amazing thing is that all four of our losses have been within a last second shot. I can't remember the last time that we have been in every game in a season...especially this late in the season and against an incredibly tough slate.

I would need a direct quote from the tournament committee that such a thing was ever done. That's just not a possibility at all.

I think the committee thought they were rewarding us with the 2 and Minneapolis vs. the 1. At the time, the fans really weren't ****** about the 2. I know that I wasn't because I had bought first round tickets to Minneapolis in January and spent most of the season hoping that we'd earn a seed that would get us there.

Yeah, and we also chose to be placed in MSU's bracket so we could play them in would was essentially a home game for them.

Only team with three Top 10 RPI wins... no one else has more than 1.

Only team with three Top 5 in AP Poll wins... no one else has more than 1.

I hate to mention it but I think UNI would have 2 wins against RPI top-10 teams.

Iowa State now has three RPI top-10 wins (Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa). No one else has more than one.

This might be the dumbest thing ever posted here. Stop making up **** and saying someone else "credible" told you that. Teams don't choose their seeds in the NCAA Tournament. Not then. Not now. Not ever.
